Prime Minister inspects progress of 500kV transmission line with scale of more than 7,400 billion VND, requires completion by August 19

The Prime Minister personally inspected the VT404 column location in Thai Hoa commune and the VT369 column location in Dan Chu commune. These are column locations with large and complicated construction volumes.

At a meeting to resolve difficulties for the project shortly after, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) Dang Hoang An said that up to now, 100% of the land for 468 foundation positions has been handed over.

The project has completed 306/468 column positions (65.38%), and is transporting, assembling and assembling 162/468 positions (34.62%).

Pointing out the difficulties, Mr. An said that the project has a large construction volume, short construction time, high and dangerous mountainous terrain, steep, muddy and slippery construction roads. The contractor's workforce was not enough to meet the demand under the conditions of high construction intensity, short time and many tasks. EVN had to mobilize nearly 1,000 additional staff, from Military Region 2 with more than 200 officers, soldiers and a number of youth union members.

However, the current problem is that the official compensation and resettlement support plan has not been approved, payments have not been made, and the handover of the route corridor to the investor has not been completed...

In his concluding remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that having this power transmission line helps maximize green, clean, and cheap electricity sources in the northern provinces, helping to avoid power shortages.

From the spirit of implementing the 500kV line 3, which was done at lightning speed in 6 months, he emphasized the need for higher determination, trying then trying harder, being more determined then more determined, focusing on key points to implement the project.

Recalling the direct meeting with people at the project, he said that we must listen respectfully, then come up with appropriate solutions so that people can understand, share, and contribute to the project.

The target is to complete the project by August 19. In the context of a lot of work and little time, there needs to be a way to organize implementation. In particular, it is necessary to establish a forward command team at the construction sites with EVN Chairman Dang Hoang An as the team leader, to coordinate and handle the work based on functions and tasks, with the goal of ensuring progress and quality.

At the same time, it is necessary to ensure the material life of the people. The Provincial Party Secretary must directly direct and mobilize the people on the basis of listening carefully and cleverly so that "ideology must be clear", ensuring legitimate rights and interests. The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of National Defense to build camps, logistics, and food to support the project.

The Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade, provinces and cities related to the project to proactively take part, with the spirit of only discussing and not backing down, not saying no, and to launch a general offensive to implement the project to ensure it is completed by August 19.

The 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line project is a national key project, a double-circuit project with a total length of 229.5km, with a total of 468 pole foundation locations.

The project passes through 4 provinces including Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Vinh Phuc with the starting point being Lao Cai 500kV station and the ending point being Vinh Yen 500kV station. The total investment is over 7,410 billion VND.

The project plays a role in transmitting the power of hydropower plants in the Northwest region and neighboring provinces to the national power system. At the same time, it creates a strong connection between regions in the power system, increasing the ability to operate safely and stably for the national power system. Reduce power loss in the transmission grid, increase the efficiency of electricity production and business, and reserve the need to import electricity from China.
