Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to Laos took place from December 2 to 3 at the invitation of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone.

Welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Wattay International Airport on the Lao side were Minister, Head of the Prime Minister's Office Bouakhong Nammavong; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs , Leader of Vientiane Capital, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh; Chief of Office of the Laos-Vietnam Cooperation Committee Viengsan Chantha; and leaders of Departments under the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the Vietnamese side, there were Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong; Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam; representatives of Vietnamese representative agencies in Laos, embassy staff, and the Vietnamese community in Laos.

The working trip to attend the meeting is of great significance in realizing the goals set by the Politburo at the meeting between the two Politburoes on December 2, especially promoting practical cooperation, contributing to continuing to consolidate and strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The two sides have achieved many important goals stated at the "Discussion on the Cooperation Strategy between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Lao People's Democratic Republic for the period 2021-2030", especially the implementation of the Agreement on Bilateral Cooperation between the Governments of Vietnam and Laos has been carried out effectively, contributing to consolidating and developing the relationship between the two countries.

At the 48th meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee, the two delegations of the two governments will review and assess the implementation of agreements in the Vietnam-Laos Cooperation Plan for the 2021-2025 period and 2025; at the same time, they will discuss and agree on cooperation directions and tasks for the 2026-2030 period and 2026, in order to concretize the Conclusion of the Meeting of the two Politburoes.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides will sign a number of important cooperation documents, contributing to realizing the cooperation orientation between the two governments in the coming time.

The political relationship and strategic trust between Vietnam and Laos continue to be consolidated and tightened, affirming the core role and overall orientation in the relationship between the two countries. After more than 60 years of establishing diplomatic relations, inheriting and promoting the tradition of special solidarity between the two countries, the two sides agreed to elevate the relationship to a new height, with strategic cohesion.

The two sides promoted existing cooperation mechanisms, especially through meetings and exchanges between the two General Secretaries and senior Party and State leaders of the two countries; at the same time, reviewed and adjusted cooperation mechanisms in accordance with the realities of both sides; the two sides also focused on exchanging views on strategic issues, guidelines and policies related to security and development.

The two sides successfully coordinated to organize many important foreign affairs activities between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the two States. The high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the two countries exchanged many in-depth, comprehensive and substantive contents on core issues, many key cooperation contents and projects were resolved, creating momentum to promote strong development of cooperation and deepen the close relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.

Defense, security and foreign affairs cooperation continues to have new developments, going deeper and more effective, becoming a pillar in Vietnam-Laos relations. Economic, cultural, educational and scientific-technical cooperation has seen positive changes. Cooperation between departments, ministries, branches, committees of the National Assembly, Fatherland Front, mass organizations, people's organizations and localities of the two countries continues to be promoted and become more substantial...
