The Prime Minister hopes that war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services will always be shining examples to continue to encourage their children and grandchildren, and educate the younger generation about the contributions and sacrifices of previous generations, constantly promote the tradition of deep patriotism, heroic revolution, and indomitable spirit; set an example in implementing and mobilizing people to well implement the policies and laws of the Party and State, be a solid support for Party Committees and authorities at all levels, and contribute more to the homeland and the country.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested ministries, sectors and localities to further promote the tradition of "repaying gratitude", the morality of "remembering the source of water", continue to care for the material and spiritual life, and implement policies for those with meritorious services better and better.

* Previously, while inspecting the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for policy families in An Giang province, the Prime Minister visited the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Co in Binh My commune - a family that contributed to the revolution during the resistance war against the US to save the country. With the support of 60 million VND from the State and the support and encouragement of the Party Committee, authorities, organizations and neighbors, Ms. Nguyen Thi Co has just inaugurated a house worth 230 million VND.

Congratulating Mrs. Nguyen Thi Co's family on their new, spacious and clean residence built with the family's efforts and the love and responsibility of the State and the entire community, with the spirit of "whoever has something helps, whoever has property helps property, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has a little helps a little", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Party and the State have no other greater goal than taking care of the people to have an increasingly prosperous and happy life, including striving to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for people with revolutionary contributions before July 27 and complete the elimination of all temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31.

The Prime Minister commended An Giang province for its active response, completing the construction and repair, and handing over 6,774 houses to households for "settling down and making a living", with a total value of more than 420 billion VND from the State budget and social mobilization; completing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province 4 months earlier than the general plan of the whole country.

The Prime Minister hopes and believes that families with meritorious services, including Mrs. Nguyen Thi Co's family, will continue to uphold the revolutionary tradition, always be an example for their children, clans and communities; actively participate in local work; and request local Party committees and authorities to pay attention to families with meritorious services to the revolution, so that the lives of those with meritorious services will be better, at least equal to the average living standards of local people.

* On the same evening, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Tomb of Thoai Ngoc Hau in Chau Doc. The Grand General Nguyen Van Thoai (Thoai Ngoc Hau) made great contributions to the pacification and protection of the territory during the Nguyen Dynasty. Thoai Ngoc Hau was not only an outstanding mandarin, but also an excellent businessman, with strategic projects, especially commanding the construction of Vinh Te Canal. The project began in 1819 under the reign of King Gia Long and was completed in 1824 under the reign of King Minh Mang.

* Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also visited Ba Chua Xu Temple in Sam Mountain - where every year at the end of the fourth lunar month, the Ba Chua Xu Temple Festival in Sam Mountain takes place - a major festival imbued with the cultural identity of the people of the Southwest region, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh once shared that in the theory of national construction and development over the past 80 years, besides Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought, culture has always played a special role - culture is a resource, an endogenous strength, a spiritual foundation, connecting the past - present - future.

In the era of national development, our country advocates promoting a culture imbued with national identity; internationalizing national cultural identity and nationalizing the quintessence of world culture. Heritages recognized and listed by UNESCO such as the Festival of Lady Chua Xu in Sam Mountain are very important national brands; they need to continue to be preserved, promoted, and contributed to the socio-economic development and sustainable development of the country.
