Da Nang will focus on economic development according to 3 pillars: (1) Tourism associated with resort real estate, international event organization center and associated with cultural factors, creating uniqueness, difference, creating added value for the tourism pillar; (2) Knowledge economy with 2 spearheads: high-tech industry associated with building creative urban areas, startups and information technology, electronics, telecommunications industry associated with the digital economy; (3) High-quality service center.

The planning goal of Da Nang City's development by 2030 will be to become one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia with the role of a center for startups, innovation, tourism, trade, finance, logistics, high-tech industry, information technology, supporting industry; Center for organizing regional and international events; Seaport city, international coastal city with the position as the nucleus of the urban chain and growth pole of the North Central and Central Coast regions, the North Central Highlands region and reaching the level of the Asian region....

Tourism is the spearhead, information technology industry is the mainstay.

In the direction of developing important sectors and fields, this Da Nang City planning identifies tourism as a key economic sector, developing the city into a high-quality tourism and service center, a high-class, green, smart, eco-friendly sea resort tourism center, organizing international conferences, events and festivals.

In particular, the planning aims to develop the information technology and telecommunications industry into a key economic sector with an annual revenue growth rate 2-2.5 times higher than the city's GRDP growth rate.

Da Nang will form concentrated information technology zones and a chain of software parks, creating links in research to master technology and produce digital technology products; promote research and development of key information technology products; prioritize the development of the software industry, digital content production, design, microchip production, and provide Vietnamese information technology services with competitive advantages and export potential.

The city determines to develop the digital technology industry in the spirit of combining self-reliance, creativity and selective international cooperation; research, develop and apply controlled testing mechanisms and policies (sandbox), promote training, research, development, testing and application of artificial intelligence to become a spearhead economic sector with important contributions to the development of the digital economy...

In addition, the city will use interactive digital technology platforms for people to participate in solving issues of socio-economic development, political security, social order and safety; build a Cyber Security and Safety Operations Center connected to the Cyber Security Monitoring and Operation Support System serving the national Digital Government, and the Cyber Security System serving the national Digital Government.
