Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee reported to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh: Storm No. 13 has caused severe damage to houses, urban infrastructure, transportation, power grid, telecommunications, medical infrastructure, education ... as well as production and business activities of people and enterprises. The total damage is estimated at about 5,900 billion VND.

Mr. Tuan said that Gia Lai province is focusing all resources to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 13; at the same time, he also asked the Central Government to pay attention to supporting more resources to help Gia Lai overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
On behalf of the Party and State, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the storm-fighting spirit of the Gia Lai provincial government and people, especially their determination to evacuate people in dangerous areas to safety before the storm made landfall. The Prime Minister also commended the political system's decisive participation in mobilizing forces to help people and businesses overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

The Prime Minister requested Gia Lai province to focus on compiling the total damage caused by the storm so that the Central Government can plan support. In particular, review and compile statistics on cases of collapsed houses, completely swept away, leaving people without a place to live; immediately start building new houses for people. At the same time, combine repairing severely damaged houses, helping people settle down and find work.
On this occasion, Gia Lai province focuses on planning and rebuilding new resettlement areas, clearing the entire coastal area for business and service activities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality. At the same time, reviewing all traffic, health, education infrastructure... to have an immediate plan to overcome the problem.
Gia Lai province also needs to have a plan to support and create jobs for people to develop production and livestock farming and support businesses to overcome damage, restore production and business, and avoid disruption of the supply chain.
“Gia Lai needs to mobilize armed forces and youth to quickly help businesses clear land, repair and rebuild factories; banks create favorable conditions for loans with preferential interest rates, debt forgiveness and debt reduction; calculate tax reductions, fee reductions... to help people and businesses overcome difficulties,” the Prime Minister directed.
The Prime Minister also requested that this afternoon the Ministry of Finance balance and propose support for Gia Lai province to overcome the consequences of storm No. 13. At the same time, the province also calculates the use of reserve funds to support people in overcoming the consequences.
