The Prime Minister requested to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31, 2025.
The whole country has supported the elimination of more than 264,000 temporary and dilapidated houses.
The announcement stated: Immediately after the fifth session, ministries, central and local agencies focused on implementing assigned tasks to resolutely complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31, 2025, in which priority was given to supporting housing for relatives of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions to be completed before July 27, 2025.
According to the data reported by localities on the software updated by July 8, 2025, the whole country has supported the elimination of more than 264,000 temporary and dilapidated houses (nearly 230,000 houses were inaugurated and about 34,000 houses were started and built); 19/34 localities have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for all 3 groups of meritorious people, housing support from the National Target Program and housing support for poor and near-poor households from the Launch Program.
The Prime Minister welcomed the positive and proactive spirit of the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, along with ministries, agencies, localities, and armed forces who have closely followed the situation, promptly proposed plans, and implemented drastic and effective measures to shorten the time to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. He commended and highly appreciated the spirit of drastic and responsible participation of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security , the State Bank of Vietnam, ministries, agencies, localities, corporations, enterprises, and philanthropists who have proactively participated and committed to go hand in hand with actions, demonstrating the noble responsibility and profound humanity of our nation with the spirit of "The whole leaf covers the torn leaf, the less torn leaf covers the more torn leaf", "No one is left behind".

Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a particularly important political task with profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the Party and State's concern for the people and gratitude to heroes, martyrs, and those who have contributed to the revolution. The Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies and localities to resolutely direct the implementation of this task, determined to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide before August 31, 2025; including housing support for people with meritorious services and families of martyrs to be completed before July 24, 2025 to practically celebrate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, competing to make achievements to welcome Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress.
At the same time, continue to promote and vigorously launch the Movement to join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in the spirit of " whoever has something to help; whoever has meritorious services helps meritorious services; whoever has property helps property; whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has a little helps a little" ; each house is "a gift, a warm home, a love", demonstrating the beautiful "national love and compatriotism" of our nation.
The Prime Minister requested Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency and press agencies to step up information and communication work, increase news and articles, create motivation, inspiration, strongly spread the movement, create a vibrant competitive atmosphere, join hands to support, share and assist the Program in the above spirit, contributing to the completion of the set goals.
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Construction and localities to review and update data on temporary and dilapidated houses, ensuring accuracy and consistency of data between the central and local levels; on that basis, specific measures shall be taken to support and guide localities to focus on implementation, ensuring the achievement of the set goals.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security continue to mobilize forces stationed in the area to support efforts and materials for localities to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with the spirit of " Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people".
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Veterans Association, the Women's Union, and the Youth Union continue to support local authorities and households, especially families with meritorious services, to promptly start and complete projects to ensure quality and on schedule.
Localities proactively use temporarily idle financial resources to support new construction and housing repairs for meritorious people.
The Prime Minister requested the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to proactively use temporarily idle local financial resources to support the construction of new houses and repair of houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs, in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 84/CD-TTg dated June 8, 2025; promptly review and consolidate Steering Committees at all levels, not allowing the direction and management work to be interrupted; daily update the results of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area into the guided statistical software; send a list of focal officers monitoring the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses to the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions for coordination during the implementation process.
The Party Secretaries and Chairmen of the People's Committees at all levels of 15 provinces with temporary and dilapidated houses (Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ca Mau) directly took part in directing, urging, inspecting, supervising, promoting resolutely, focusing on implementation and ensuring the completion of the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area; proactively and promptly resolving difficulties and problems regarding funding, land, and resources to complete all set goals.
