Prime Minister requests to complete house repairs for flood victims before December 31, 2025

On the morning of December 9, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with ministries, branches, and central agencies; and held an online meeting with localities on the implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign", rebuilding and repairing houses for households that collapsed, washed away, or were severely damaged by recent storms and floods.

Attending the meeting were leaders of the provinces and cities of Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang , Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong.

According to reports and opinions at the meeting, recently, storms, extreme rains and floods, floods exceeding history have caused very serious consequences in many localities across the country, especially in the Central provinces. Of which, 1,635 houses collapsed and 39,461 houses were severely damaged.

The Prime Minister has issued a telegram to launch and deploy the "Quang Trung Campaign", to rapidly rebuild and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged by the recent natural disasters. In the spirit of the Prime Minister's direction, localities have resolutely taken action, determined to complete the construction of new houses before January 31, 2026 and complete the repair of damaged houses before December 31, 2025.

As of December 8, in the provinces and cities of the Central region, construction has started on 971/1,635 houses, of which 479 have been completed. The provinces and cities have repaired 34,627 houses, are repairing 3,943 houses, and 891 houses have not yet started repair.

After listening to the reports and conclusions of the meeting, the Prime Minister commended and thanked the provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, the military and police forces, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Youth Union for actively participating in the "Quang Trung Campaign" and many houses have been built and repaired.

The Prime Minister also severely criticized Quang Tri province because 12 households whose houses were severely damaged by the storm have not yet been repaired, and people still have to live in temporary shelters.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the "Quang Trung Campaign" is a campaign without gunfire, but must be victorious and victoriously to bring joy and happiness to the people, especially those who no longer have homes or whose houses were damaged after the recent historic storm and flood. Therefore, it needs to be done quickly, even more quickly; carried out with all responsibility to the people and with all the love from the heart.

The Prime Minister pointed out that, in addition to State resources, it is necessary to mobilize resources from the whole society to participate in supporting the construction and repair of new houses for people, with the spirit of "whoever has something helps, whoever has property helps property, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot, wherever is convenient, help there". If there are any problems or difficulties, they should be reported immediately for the Government and the Prime Minister to consider and resolve.

The Prime Minister requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, especially the Youth Union, to launch a movement to support people in building and repairing houses.
