Promoting digital transformation in the education sector and developing IT talent

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Huawei Technologies Vietnam Co., Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote digital transformation in the education sector, develop ICT talents and strengthen university-enterprise linkages.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Phong Dien - Vice President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology emphasized that the MOU signing ceremony marked an important milestone, demonstrating the two sides' shared vision in promoting technology, education and sustainable development in Vietnam. He affirmed that the two sides will cooperate closely in developing high-quality ICT human resources, helping students access advanced training programs, international professional certificates and opportunities to participate in global programs such as Seeds for the Future and Huawei ICT Competition.

The leaders of the Polytechnic University also highly appreciated the opportunities that Huawei provides to students through internship programs, career fairs, technical seminars and networking activities with leading experts in the industry. These programs will strengthen the bridge between students and enterprises, ensuring that the next generation of engineers is fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to conquer challenges with confidence and creativity.

Huawei representative, Mr. Ivan Liu - General Director of Huawei Vietnam - shared that Huawei is honored to accompany Hanoi University of Science and Technology in the journey of promoting digital transformation and developing ICT human resources for Vietnam. Huawei is committed to providing advanced academic resources of Huawei ICT Academy, helping students and lecturers access the latest knowledge in AI, Cloud Computing, Telecommunications and IT; at the same time, expanding internship and career development opportunities for students. Huawei is also implementing Smart Education initiatives in Vietnam and is ready to accompany the University in building a more modern and effective digital learning environment.

According to the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will cooperate in three main areas: (1) Digital transformation in higher education, focusing on building a digital university model and applying AI in teaching - research - administration; (2) ICT human resource development, implementing the Huawei ICT Academy program with the goal of training 300 students each year, while improving lecturer capacity through international standard training programs and providing free learning materials; (3) University - enterprise connection, including organizing Office Tour, Job Fair, technical workshops and internship - recruitment programs for final year students to enhance practical experience and improve professional capacity.

Huawei is currently a long-term educational partner of many Vietnamese universities through programs such as Huawei ICT Academy, Huawei ICT Competition, Seeds for the Future and internship and young talent recruitment programs, contributing to supporting the national digital transformation process and developing high-quality digital human resources.

In the context of Vietnam's strong growth in the digital economy , especially in the fields of AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity and data science, the cooperation between Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Huawei will contribute to supporting the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Strategy to 2030, focusing on developing digital infrastructure, digital human resources and promoting technology application in higher education, contributing to building an innovative ecosystem and sustainable connection between businesses - schools - students.
