“Da Nang always attaches importance to developing cooperative relations in many fields with New Zealand. Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh said that Da Nang has 03 FDI projects from New Zealand investing in the city with an investment capital of 245 thousand USD. The export value of Da Nang enterprises to the New Zealand market in 2023 is estimated at 5 million USD; in the first 7 months of 2024, it is estimated at 3.2 million USD with the main export items being seafood, children's toys, garments and handicrafts.
Currently, Da Nang is focusing on implementing Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 dated June 26, 2024 of the National Assembly on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city. In which, focusing on a number of areas: semiconductor chips, high technology, seaports.
On that basis, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh hopes that New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Caroline Beresford will act as a bridge to promote cooperation between Da Nang and New Zealand businesses and investors.

New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Caroline Beresford expressed her delight at visiting and working in Da Nang. She also said that 2025 is an important year in cooperation between Vietnam and New Zealand as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership.
Regarding the connection and working with the Asia-New Zealand Foundation in New Zealand, the New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam believes that Da Nang is a great place, a suitable location for countries to come and survey the investment environment. At the same time, he affirmed that he will act as a bridge to promote and support Da Nang on this issue.
