Mr. Max Glesener, Director of the Lux-Dev program, said: Since 2007, Lux-DEV has always been a long-term partner, working with Thua Thien Hue province to implement projects funded by the Government of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Energy and Climate Fund (CEF) in the fields of rural development, climate change mitigation and adaptation; successfully implementing 4 ODA projects with a total capital of 16.96 million Euros, of which 12 million Euros were funded by the Government of Luxembourg and 4.96 million Euros were funded by the Luxembourg Energy and Climate Fund (CEF).
Currently, the Luxembourg Government is funding and supporting projects for the province on technical assistance “Financing for Resilience - Promoting climate-smart agriculture and financial inclusion in Thua Thien Hue province to improve the resilience of farming households, especially women” and the project “Adaptation and resilience to climate change in Thua Thien Hue province”.
Lux-Dev Program Director - Mr. Max Glesener highly appreciated the support of the province which has contributed to the effective implementation of projects in the area in the past time; wished to continue receiving support from departments, localities, and provincial leaders to ensure the progress as well as the effectiveness and objectives of the proposed projects.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh thanked the Luxembourg Government and the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency for their attention to the province in the past time. Projects supported by Lux-Dev have contributed to improving livelihoods, protecting livelihoods and the natural environment, raising awareness of the government and the community about environmental issues and environmental protection in response to climate change.
Thua Thien Hue Province hopes that Lux-Dev will continue to research and cooperate with the province in a number of areas such as sustainable forestry management; ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) focusing on Tam Giang Lagoon and coastal areas; attracting finance for climate change from the private sector; capacity building and policy advocacy programs, perfecting legal/institutional frameworks, planning and infrastructure, etc.
