Promoting cooperation between Vietnamese and Azerbaijani courts

At the invitation of the Supreme People's Court, a high-ranking delegation of the Supreme People's Court of Azerbaijan visited and worked in Vietnam from December 1-4. On the afternoon of December 2, at the headquarters of the Supreme People's Court, Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang held talks with Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Inam Imdad Karimov.

Also attending the talks was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, Mr. Shovgi Kamal Oglu Mehdizade.

Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam Nguyen Van Quang happily welcomed and sincerely thanked Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Inam Imdad Karimov and the high-ranking delegation of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan for their visit and work in Vietnam.

This visit takes place in the context of the establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Azerbaijan in May 2025 during the State visit of General Secretary To Lam to the Republic of Azerbaijan from May 7-8, 2025. Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang believes that this visit to Vietnam by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan will establish and promote the cooperation between the two countries' courts to a new level of development.

At the meeting, the two sides affirmed the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan in recent times, which is a good foundation for future cooperation between the two countries' court systems. Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang also shared with the delegation some of the judicial reform results of the People's Court of Vietnam in recent times, including issues on the structure of the court sector, digital transformation, e-courts and human resource development in the coming time.

Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang emphasized that the Vietnamese Court plays a very important role in implementing the "Strategy for building and perfecting the Socialist Rule of Law State of Vietnam until 2030, with a vision to 2045", which includes many contents related to improving the efficiency of the court system. In order to fulfill the political tasks assigned by the Party and the State, the support, cooperation, sharing of valuable information and experience in justice and law from Azerbaijan in general and the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan in particular is of great significance.

Sharing information on the activities of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan with the Vietnamese People's Court system, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan affirmed that Azerbaijan is ready to support Vietnam in enhancing the efficiency of court operations and digitizing the court system.

The two sides expressed their belief that in the coming time, the Supreme Courts of the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation. The development of cooperation between the Supreme Courts of the two countries will bring specific and practical benefits to both the Courts of Vietnam and Azerbaijan, contributing positively to the common development of each country, as well as further tightening the traditional cooperative relationship between the two peoples.

Both sides expressed their belief that, after this visit to Vietnam by the high-ranking delegation of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, the Courts of the two countries will continue to research and propose new cooperation methods to continuously exchange and share experiences in trial work.
