The event was organized by Novo Nordisk Vietnam in collaboration with the People's Committee of Da Nang City, with the support of the Vietnam Endocrine and Diabetes Association, the Da Nang City Department of Health , and hospitals in Da Nang.
According to data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), globally, seven out of ten adults with diabetes are of working age. For millions of workers, diabetes is an everyday reality – but in the workplace, it can often become a source of stress, stigma, and fear. This negatively impacts their health and lives.

Professor Tran Huu Dang delivered the opening remarks at the event.
In his opening remarks at the event, Professor Tran Huu Dang, President of the Vietnam Endocrinology and Diabetes Association, emphasized: " By raising awareness and understanding, we can not only prevent diabetes, but also work together to ensure that the workplace becomes an environment where people with diabetes feel safe, valued, and empowered to develop, achieve their goals at work, and lead healthy and normal lives."
The event attracted local residents, patients from diabetes clubs at hospitals, and healthcare professionals who came to learn about this chronic disease and work together to support people with diabetes, creating a more positive and empathetic living and working environment for them.

Erik Wiebols shared information about the company's operations and commitments.
Erik Wiebols, General Director of Novo Nordisk Vietnam, said: " At Novo Nordisk, our pride stems from effective public-private partnerships. Together, we drive real change, from raising awareness about diabetes in the community to improving the quality of patient care. We are committed to continuing our efforts so that people living with diabetes can not only manage their condition but also truly live healthy lives, aiming for a full life, with normal activities and work."
Despite increasing awareness of workers' health, many people living with diabetes still struggle to balance their health with job expectations. This persistent struggle not only impacts mental health but also limits career development.

Panel discussion and consultation session with experts.
In the panel discussion "Going the Right Way, Living the Right Way," with sharing and advice from Meritorious Doctor, MSc. Dr. Diep Thi Thanh Binh - Vice President of the Vietnam Endocrinology and Diabetes Association, and Dr. Dang Anh Dao, Head of the Nephrology - Endocrinology Department, Da Nang Hospital, participants learned more about diabetes, how to prevent and manage the disease, diet and physical activity, as well as adherence to treatment when living with diabetes.

Participants underwent health checks including blood pressure measurement, blood sugar measurement, and body mass index (BMI) measurement.
In addition, on-site exhibitions, consultations, and health check-ups help the community better understand their health status. Learning about the challenges faced by people with diabetes in the workplace will help the community dispel prejudices about diabetes and foster a more empathetic view, promoting action to effectively support people with diabetes.

Activities organized by staff members aim to highlight the role of physical activity in diabetes management.
With over 100 years of experience in the field of diabetes, Novo Nordisk has been continuously striving to promote public-private partnerships with its partners to jointly fulfill its mission of "Changing to reverse serious chronic diseases." Having been present in Vietnam for over 30 years, Novo Nordisk not only brings advanced treatment solutions closer to patients but also collaborates with the Ministry of Health , the Danish Embassy, professional associations, and major hospitals nationwide to implement initiatives to improve the quality of diabetes care.
It is known that on November 15-16, the 23rd Southeast Asian Conference on Endocrinology – AFES 2025 – was also held in Da Nang city, bringing together medical professionals from countries in the region.
