On November 13, the People's Committee of Thuong Tan commune held a conference with leaders of cooperatives, cooperative groups and enterprises to discuss solutions to promote agricultural production and investment orientation in the coming period. The conference was chaired by Mr. Vo Anh Tham, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tan commune.
At the conference, the Commune Economic Department reported on the agricultural production situation in the area after the merger. The whole commune currently has more than 7,570 hectares of agricultural land, forming 30 farms with key crops such as rubber, citrus and rice. Regarding livestock, the total herd of pigs reached more than 30,000, poultry more than 393,000, no dangerous diseases have been recorded since the beginning of the year.

Cooperative economic activities continue to be maintained with 9 agricultural cooperatives and 13 cooperative groups, with stable revenue and profit. In particular, the commune currently has 27 products meeting 3-star OCOP standards, including oranges, tangerines, grapefruits, bananas, peppers and pork sausages. Some high-tech application models are also promoted such as orange selection, washing and packaging lines or jackfruit, grapefruit, durian and banana growing areas that have been granted growing area codes for export.
Representatives of cooperatives and enterprises recommended that the commune continue to support access to capital, expand markets and invest in infrastructure serving agriculture. Representatives of the Southern Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology proposed exploiting soil advantages to develop sustainable fruit trees; representatives of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association stated that the market demand for processed and fresh fruits and vegetables is increasing sharply, opening up export opportunities for Thuong Tan.
Mr. Vo Anh Tham, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tan Commune, emphasized: "Thuong Tan will prioritize the development of green, clean, and modern agriculture; strengthen the connection between farmers, cooperatives, businesses, and scientists, aiming to build concentrated production areas and increase the value of local agricultural products." He suggested that units proactively innovate management models, boldly apply technology, and upgrade quality standards to suit the increasingly competitive market.

Strengthening production linkages, promoting the application of science and technology and standardizing processes according to market demand are considered the foundation for the locality to move towards green, safe and sustainable agriculture. With the joint efforts of "four houses", Thuong Tan commune aims to form stable production areas, increase the value of agricultural products and create momentum for long-term agricultural economic development.
