Trung Son Hydropower Plant completes 2025 production plan early

At the end of October 2025, Trung Son Hydropower Company Limited (TSHPCo) reached a milestone of more than 986 million kWh of commercial electricity, completing the 2025 output plan assigned by Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO2) early. This achievement raised the total cumulative output of the unit to about 7.8 billion kWh, contributing significantly to the goal of ensuring national electricity security during the period when the load continues to increase.

Trung Son Hydropower Plant completes 2025 production plan early

Trung Son Hydropower Plant operates safely and stably, providing a cumulative 7.8 billion kWh of electricity to the national grid.

According to TSHPCo representative, the completion of the plan nearly 2 months early is the result of a systematic and proactive preparation process many months before the dry season. The company has reviewed the entire operating process, increased the level of equipment status monitoring, organized enhanced shifts and built reservoir regulation scenarios according to each hydrological situation. The generators are maintained with high availability coefficients, fully meeting the mobilization requirements of the national power system. In addition, the discipline and responsibility of the operating team are given top priority, considering this as the core factor determining the year's results.

To optimize production, TSHPCo also synchronously deploys many technical solutions including equipment improvement, reducing self-consumption electricity loss, applying real-time operation monitoring software and analyzing energy loss. The digital transformation strategy also helps the unit synchronize data through management platforms, from electronic operation logs to equipment status analysis reports, allowing to shorten the time to handle abnormalities, ensuring the plant operates safely - continuously - effectively according to EVNGENCO2 standards.

In 2025, TSHPCo will also organize a full range of professional drills and incident response programs to assess employees' situation handling skills and review issues that need improvement in the process. The company also builds a natural disaster prevention and control plan that closely follows extreme weather scenarios; periodically inspects dams, reservoirs, monitoring systems and electromechanical control equipment. These measures help improve response capabilities and minimize operational risks, especially during periods of heavy rain and floods and peak heat.

Chairman and Director of TSHPCo Vu Xuan Dung said: “We always pay close attention to the operating process. Equipment operations are carried out in accordance with industry regulations, ensuring full occupational safety conditions. All important parameters are checked and analyzed regularly to detect changes early, thereby having the fastest handling and response measures. The company pays special attention to improving the professional qualifications and troubleshooting skills of the team of engineers and staff. This is a factor that helps us to be proactive in all situations, minimize objective incidents and prevent subjective incidents from occurring."

Along with staff training, TSHPCo strengthens regular repair work, especially before and after the flood season. The repair team of the operating workshop carries out monthly planned maintenance, combined with testing, technical evaluation and periodic equipment inspection. All generators are comprehensively inspected before the flood season to ensure stable operation and maintain optimal performance. The flood protection equipment system, EPP emergency warning system and communication are maintained periodically, ensuring readiness for operation in case of unusual situations.

TSHPCo aims to continue to improve the reservoir operation method in a more optimal direction, based on the application of hydrological data and accurate meteorological forecasts. The company will promote the deployment of modern equipment monitoring systems, aiming to realize the predictive maintenance model, helping to reduce machine downtime and increase operational efficiency. In addition, the company continues to promote technical initiatives, considering innovation as a driving force to promote labor productivity and management quality; at the same time, linking production efficiency with the responsibility to ensure the safety of dams and downstream areas.
