On the morning of December 7, Nguyen Thuy Linh won against Letshanaa Karupathevan (Malaysia) with a score of 2-1 (15-21, 21-10 and 23-21) in the women's badminton team event of the 33rd SEA Games.
Despite winning her first match, Thuy Linh still could not hide her confusion and frustration with many of the referee's decisions during the match.
Especially in the third set, while trying to keep up with each point, Thuy Linh felt extremely frustrated with the way the referee handled the shots close to the line.
"In fact, today's match had 3 balls that the referee's decision was unclear. Two balls were hit out by my opponent but the referee called them in, and the other ball I think was 50-50," the player from Phu Tho shared.

Vietnam's number 1 female tennis player emphasized: "I think today the referee was a bit biased towards the opponent."
Despite facing pressure from a younger, physically stronger opponent, along with a slight bias from the referee, Thuy Linh's victory still came from experience and calmness when necessary.
When asked by reporters if she was afraid of being made difficult by the referees at the 33rd SEA Games, she replied: “I think there is nothing to be afraid of. There is no other choice but to play with all my might.”
Now Thuy Linh will wait for the organizers to draw lots to know the opponents in the women's singles.
