The reports showed that many judicial indicators continued to exceed the National Assembly's requirements, in which the rate of criminal trials reached nearly 99% and the rate of asset recovery in corruption cases reached 85.9%.

According to Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Huy Tien, the entire Procuracy sector has completed and exceeded many targets assigned by the National Assembly .

Regarding prosecution and supervision in the criminal field, the Supreme People's Procuracy has directed the entire sector to continue to strengthen prosecution responsibilities, ensure proactiveness, and link prosecution with investigation activities right from the time of receiving and handling information about crimes, according to the 4S motto: "Earlier, closer, deeper, sharper".

Ensure the principle of non-criminalization of civil, economic , and administrative relations, and resolutely fight against injustice, wrongdoing, or omission of criminals.

The entire sector prosecuted and supervised the reception and settlement of 134,427 sources of information on crimes (reaching 100%); issued 97,694 requests for investigation agencies to check and verify sources of information on crimes; conducted 1,829 direct inspections; requested the prosecution of 703 cases, requested the cancellation of 30 decisions to prosecute cases (up 50%); directly prosecuted to request investigation of 70 cases (up 233.3%).

The prosecution and the procuracy investigated 133,093 cases, 239,756 defendants; issued 94,545 investigation requests; did not approve 681 orders and decisions to apply preventive measures; canceled 959 decisions on temporary detention...

The Supreme People's Procuracy's investigation agency resolved 91.8% of criminal information (exceeding 1.8%); accepted 107 cases for investigation, 269 defendants (an increase of 1.9% in the number of cases and 31.9% in the number of defendants). The rate of investigating and discovering crimes reached 90.7% (exceeding 20.7%), very serious and especially serious crimes reached 96% (exceeding 6%); the rate of recovering assets in corruption cases reached 85.9% (exceeding 25.9%)...

The Supreme People's Procuracy has closely coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security and the Supreme People's Court in investigating, prosecuting, and strictly trying many major corruption and economic cases under the supervision and direction of the Central Steering Committee; applying measures to ensure and recover 45,531 billion VND, of which nearly 4,000 billion VND according to Resolution 164 on piloting the handling of evidence and assets.

According to the 2025 work results report of the People's Court sector presented by Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Van Quang, the Courts accepted 683,341 cases, resolved and tried 618,341 cases, reaching a rate of 90.49%, 0.77% higher than the previous year.

The rate of judgments and decisions annulled or amended due to subjective reasons was 0.69%, 0.08% lower than the previous year and meeting the requirements set forth in the National Assembly Resolution.

Regarding the settlement and trial of criminal cases, the Courts have settled and tried 98.63% of cases and 97.38% of defendants, 0.45% higher than the previous year in terms of the number of cases and 0.56% in terms of the number of defendants, exceeding 10.63% of the National Assembly Resolution target.

"The trial of criminal cases must be strict, with the right person, the right crime, and the right law. Many cases under the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity have been strictly handled, and have been highly appreciated by public opinion," Chief Justice Nguyen Van Quang stated.

In addition, regarding the settlement and adjudication of civil cases, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang said that the Courts have settled and adjudicated 88.64% of cases, 1.13% higher than last year and exceeding 10.64% of the National Assembly Resolution target.

Effectively carry out mediation work; do a good job of guiding the parties to fulfill their obligations to provide evidence and documents of the case; strengthen coordination with relevant agencies to properly resolve the case.

The Supreme People's Court and high-level People's Courts have resolved 64.22% of requests for review and retrial, exceeding 4.22% compared to the National Assembly Resolution.

In addition to the positive results, the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court also frankly acknowledged that the activities of the Courts still have some shortcomings and limitations such as: Human resources, facilities, and working equipment of some units and Courts have not met work requirements, especially for regional People's Courts; some civil servants have not strictly followed public service discipline, leading to violations of laws and regulations of the industry...

In 2026, the Supreme People's Court has identified specific tasks, focusing on concretizing and effectively implementing General Secretary To Lam's instructions to the industry.

At the same time, effectively implement the 3-level Court model and apply resources to the regional People's Courts; continue to implement solutions to improve the capacity and qualifications of the judicial staff, strengthen discipline and order. Promote digital transformation in the People's Courts, move towards building e-Courts and effectively implement the Laws passed by the National Assembly at the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
