This information was reported by several Chinese news outlets such as Sina and 163. The person who promised a generous reward to the Chinese U23 team is billionaire Guo Guangchang.
Mr. Guo, 58 years old, is the founder of the privately owned diversified conglomerate Fosun Group. With a net worth of nearly $3 billion, Mr. Guo is a highly influential figure in China.
In addition, Mr. Guo is also well-known for his investments in football, as his Fosun Group officially acquired English club Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2016.
At that time, Wolverhampton was playing in the English Championship. Thanks to significant investment from a Chinese conglomerate, the team gained promotion to the Premier League in 2018 and has remained there ever since.
According to the 163 newspaper , Mr. Gou recently promised to reward the Chinese U23 team with 81 million yuan – equivalent to 11.6 million USD, or 305 billion VND – if they defeat Vietnam to reach the final of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
Although Fosun has not yet made an official announcement on this matter, Chinese media reports that billionaire Guo has finalized a reward plan for the Chinese U23 team.
This is considered an extremely high bonus in the world of football, almost equivalent to the bonuses that national football federations offer for winning major tournaments like the Euro or the World Cup.
