Steel billionaire Tran Dinh Long: "Returning to HoSE after 19 years, I am very emotional."

On the morning of February 6th, the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) held a ceremony to present the listing decision to Hoa Phat Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company (stock code: HPA), officially bringing 285 million HPA shares to trading on HoSE. On the first trading day, HPA shares had a reference price of 41,900 VND per share.

Mr. Tran Dinh Long witnessed the gong-ringing ceremony performed by Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, General Director of Hoa Phat Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of HPA.

Attending the ceremony, Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group, said he had many emotions returning to HoSE after 19 years, since the time Hoa Phat's HPG shares were first listed.

"It's been exactly 10 years since we entered the agricultural sector – a very difficult and challenging field. But with the determination and tireless efforts of more than 2,000 employees, Hoa Phat Agriculture has risen to the top group in the industry with very positive performance indicators," Mr. Long shared.

The Chairman of Hoa Phat Group recounted an anecdote to express his confidence in the business results of the agricultural sector: "During a conversation, Mr. Nguyen Nhu So (Chairman of Dabaco Group) congratulated us on our success in the agricultural sector. When we discussed the indicators in more detail, Mr. So was surprised and commented that many of Hoa Phat's agricultural indicators were even better than his own company."

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang, General Director of Hoa Phat Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of HPA, agriculture is currently the second largest contributor to the group's revenue and profit, after steel. "After 10 years of systematic investment, Hoa Phat has built a leading position in the high-tech agricultural sector in Vietnam. Listing on the stock exchange helps the company enhance transparency, credibility, and access to capital for the next phase of development," Mr. Thang said.

Previously, in January 2026, Hoa Phat Agricultural Development Joint Stock Company completed its initial public offering (IPO) of 30 million shares, raising 1,257 billion VND, with subscriptions far exceeding the offering size. Following the issuance, the company's charter capital increased from 2,550 billion VND to 2,850 billion VND.

In 2025, Hoa Phat Agriculture recorded revenue of VND 8,326 billion, an 18% increase compared to the previous year and exceeding the plan by 4%. After-tax profit reached VND 1,600 billion, a 55% increase and exceeding the plan by 22%.

The company's competitive advantage stems from its vertically integrated Feed-Farm model, forming a closed value chain from animal feed production to large-scale livestock farming. Currently, Hoa Phat leads the Australian beef market share, tops the clean chicken egg market in the North, is among the top 10 in terms of sow herd size, and is among the top 13 largest animal feed producers nationwide.

During the morning trading session, HPA shares rose by more than 2%, to 42,800 VND per share, contrary to the general trend as the market was in the red. At this price, Hoa Phat Agriculture's total market capitalization surged to over 12,000 billion VND.
