Recently, at the Orthopedics and Burns Department ( Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1), the Khoi Tam Charity Club (Yen Dung Ward) visited and provided financial assistance to patient T.D.D (born in 1972, residing in Yen Dung Ward). According to his family, Mr. D suffered burns due to a gas cylinder explosion and was immediately taken to the National Burn Hospital for treatment with an initial diagnosis of second and third-degree burns to the head, face, neck, arms, and legs.
With serious injuries requiring long-term and expensive treatment, and lacking health insurance, paying hospital bills became a significant burden for his family. After some time, Mr. D was transferred to Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 1 for monitoring and treatment. Understanding the family's difficulties, the Khoi Tam Charity Club appealed to individuals and organizations to support Mr. D, raising nearly 80 million VND.

Volunteers from the Tam An Charity Club distribute free porridge to patients at Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 2. |
For over two years, the sight of volunteers from the Tam An Charity Club (Yen Phong commune) busily preparing meals and porridge, and attentively inquiring about the well-being of each patient, has become familiar at Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 2, the Mental Health Hospital (Vu Ninh ward), and Tu Son Medical Center (Tu Son ward).
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bac, Head of the Tam An Charity Club, shared: Currently, the club has 6 members and nearly 80 volunteers. Despite the diverse professions and jobs of the members and volunteers (farmers, retired officials, civil servants, businesspeople, etc.), they all share a common spirit of love and compassion. Each month, the club cooks porridge twice (2,000 cups) at Bac Ninh General Hospital No. 2; and cooks rice twice, providing approximately 250 meals per session for patients at the Mental Health Hospital and Tu Son Medical Center. Each meal, whether rice or porridge, is carefully prepared by the volunteers, from selecting ingredients to cooking, ensuring adequate nutrition and food safety.
The hot meals delivered directly to patients, especially those in difficult circumstances, the elderly living alone, or those undergoing long-term treatment, represent the genuine affection and care from volunteers to those battling illness. Many patients shared that they felt warmer receiving this care from the community, which gave them more strength to overcome their disease.
Currently, the province has more than 70 volunteer clubs, groups, and teams with hundreds of members of various ages actively participating. Notable examples include: the Common House Club (Tien Du commune), the Purple Rose Club (Bac Giang ward), the Gia Binh Volunteer Team (Cao Duc commune), Connecting Hearts Club (Cam Ly commune), and the Phoenix Charity Club (Yen Dung ward)...
Clubs, organizations, and groups implement many practical and meaningful activities such as fundraising, visiting and providing meals, supporting treatment costs and medicine for patients being treated at hospitals and medical centers; giving gifts to the poor, orphans, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups. In addition, clubs actively participate in blood donation, bridge construction, and school repairs, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual support and compassion in the community.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Bao, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society, assessed: Volunteer clubs play a crucial role in charitable and humanitarian work. Besides directly supporting patients in difficult circumstances through many practical activities, they also serve as an effective bridge between philanthropists and those in need, contributing to mobilizing social resources for humanitarian activities. The positive contributions of these clubs not only help alleviate the economic burden on patients, those in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people, but also strongly spread the spirit of compassion, building the image of a united and sharing community.
