Through coordinated programs, farmers' associations at all levels play a bridging role between banks and their members. From disseminating information and guiding loan procedures to monitoring loan utilization, the associations help ensure that credit flows to the right recipients and for the right production and business purposes. With a widespread network at the grassroots level, farmers' associations not only support administrative procedures but also understand the actual needs of each household and each economic model to connect them with suitable loan sources from Agribank .
Thanks to preferential credit, many farmers have boldly invested in developing new economic models such as high-tech farming, large-scale livestock farming, beekeeping for honey production, medicinal plant cultivation, and forest economic development. Many households, starting from small-scale production, have risen to become commercial economic models, generating stable incomes ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of dong annually. Capital from banks, along with the support of farmers' associations, is a crucial factor in helping them overcome initial financial barriers.
With a 1 billion VND loan from Agribank, Mr. Hoang Trong Duc in Luong Thinh village, Luong Son commune, boldly invested in developing a beekeeping model combined with forest planting, yielding high economic efficiency and opening up a sustainable path for his family's economy. Previously, Mr. Duc's family economy mainly relied on small-scale agricultural production, with unstable income. Recognizing the potential of the forest land and the advantage of being near a natural forest area, he invested in planting 20 hectares of acacia trees and simultaneously developed a beekeeping model under the forest canopy, maintaining a scale of about 200 bee colonies, harvesting more than 1 ton of honey each year. The natural forest honey has a distinctive flavor, a stable market, and brings in hundreds of millions of VND in revenue each year. Not only does it bring economic benefits, Mr. Duc's beekeeping model also contributes to protecting the ecological environment, effectively utilizing forest resources, and creating a link between economic development and sustainable forest protection.
Thanks to boldly borrowing capital from Agribank, Mr. Bui Van Bien in Dong Dang village, Nguyet An commune, has successfully built a comprehensive economic model, combining greenhouse melon cultivation with large-scale pig farming, generating an annual revenue of approximately 2 billion VND. On an area of 3,200 square meters, he built a modern greenhouse system for growing melons. On average, each melon crop provides a stable income, contributing to improved land use efficiency. Not stopping at crop cultivation, Mr. Bien has also developed livestock farming towards a commercial scale. With a total livestock area of about 3 hectares, including a solidly built 800 square meter barn, his family maintains a herd of about 600 pigs. The farming process is carried out systematically, ensuring environmental hygiene and disease safety, thereby improving product quality and economic efficiency.
Building on the success of Mr. Hoang Trong Duc's family and Mr. Bui Van Bien's family, access to preferential credit from Agribank has become a crucial "lever" helping farmers confidently invest, transform production models, increase income, and contribute to rural economic development in the locality.
Over the past year, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized 5 training courses on loan management and loan development. In coordination with departments, agencies, and businesses, it organized 1,198 training courses on transferring scientific and technical knowledge and developing production and business plans in agriculture for 63,631 cadres, members, and farmers. It also organized 229 vocational training courses for 14,748 members and farmers; of which the association directly organized 50 courses for 1,080 members, helping 3,694 members, farmers, and workers find employment after training. Furthermore, it directed and guided the development of high-tech and high-tech agricultural production models, linked to the construction of value chains. The bank has mobilized and guided farmers to establish 24 new cooperative groups, 2 cooperatives, and 295 farmer-owned enterprises, as well as 4 new clubs for outstanding farmers in production and business with 407 members. Currently, the total outstanding loan balance at Agribank is 12,056 billion VND, for 87,314 members and 5,322 loan groups.
Mr. Vu Tien Dung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: “The partnership between the Farmers' Association and Agribank is not only about providing financial support, but also a crucial driving force helping farmers confidently invest, innovate, and prosper on their own land. In the future, continuing to expand collaborative programs, diversifying credit products, and strengthening management skills training will be key to developing agriculture in a modern, efficient, and sustainable direction.”
