The movement became a unifying force for the community.

According to the Steering Committee of the "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" Movement, after 25 years, the movement has truly become a major campaign, spreading widely and receiving the participation of a large number of people in Can Tho city. Through the movement, the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State continues to be strengthened, the great national unity is reinforced, and the political system from the city to the grassroots level is built increasingly strong.

This achievement was made possible thanks to the consistent guidance of the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, and the City People's Committee; the involvement of the entire political system; the smooth coordination of departments, agencies, and localities; and especially the consensus and positive response of the people. "The movement has become a connecting thread between emulation movements and campaigns throughout the city," the report emphasized.

Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep presented awards to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the movement.

Simultaneously, Can Tho is actively organizing large-scale festivals and political-cultural events, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists. The city currently has 108 ranked historical and cultural relics; 15 recognized intangible cultural heritages, including the Southern Vietnamese folk music and singing art form, which has been inscribed by UNESCO. This is a valuable spiritual asset that contributes to nurturing the local cultural identity.

The "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life" movement has achieved many outstanding results. Over 94% of households in the city have been awarded the title of "Culturally Rich Family," and 100% of hamlets and neighborhoods have met cultural standards. Nearly 500 collectives and 1,000 individuals have been commended for their positive contributions to the movement.

Performing arts activities continue to flourish with numerous awards at regional and national festivals and competitions. In particular, the Moc Quan – Nguyen Trong Quyen Cai Luong Competition has been revived and upgraded to a national-level competition, further affirming Can Tho's position in preserving and developing traditional theatrical arts.

Cultural and artistic programs serving political events and celebrations are increasingly being invested in, both in scale and form. Mass literary and artistic activities are becoming more diverse, contributing to meeting the creative and cultural enjoyment needs of the people.

In the cultural industry sector, Can Tho has over 635 advertising establishments, 6 cinema complexes, 2 theaters, and 1 Khmer art troupe. This network facilitates the development of cultural and entertainment activities in a modern direction, meeting the needs of residents and tourists.

Regarding international cooperation, the city has signed approximately 25 memoranda of understanding with various foreign organizations and localities, opening up a broad space for cultural exchange and creating opportunities to learn from the experience of developing modern urban culture.

These achievements form an important foundation for Can Tho to continue asserting its position as the cultural, economic , and technological center of the Mekong Delta region.

Besides the achievements, the conference also frankly pointed out many limitations affecting the quality of the cultural movement and management. Literary and artistic theory and criticism have not met the requirements of the new era. Cultural products of regional significance are few and have not made a strong impact. Investment policies for culture are still not commensurate with the city's development needs.

The deployment of cultural officials at the grassroots level is still subject to frequent changes, leading to difficulties in implementing cultural movements. Some programs and projects are behind schedule or have not yielded the expected results. The socialization of culture is not yet truly sustainable, and the mobilization of social resources sometimes fails to meet requirements.

In the context of the city's goal of rapid and sustainable development during the 2025–2030 period, these limitations require stronger, more fundamental, and comprehensive solutions.

Prioritizing digital transformation, heritage preservation, and promoting human values in Can Tho.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City and Head of the Steering Committee for the movement, emphasized that the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement is one of the four important groups of solutions outlined in Resolution No. 5 of the Central Committee (8th Congress) on building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep assessed that after more than 20 years of development, Can Tho has continuously affirmed its strategic position as a hub for economic, political, and cultural exchange in the entire Mekong Delta region. However, to ensure the movement continues to be effective in the coming period, many key solutions need to be implemented simultaneously.

First and foremost, it is necessary to continue to fully implement the goals, viewpoints, and tasks of building Vietnamese people and culture in accordance with the spirit of Conclusion 156-KL/TW (2025) and Conclusion 76-KL/TW (12th Congress). The city needs to issue appropriate mechanisms and policies for cultural development, and gradually implement the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the period 2025–2035 effectively.

Outstanding cultural performances were presented at the Can Tho City's year-end conference.

Simultaneously, propaganda and mobilization efforts need to be intensified to create unity in awareness and action throughout the entire political system and among the people. Raising awareness of the role of culture will create positive changes in building a civilized lifestyle and a healthy cultural environment from the grassroots level.

One of the key tasks emphasized by city leaders is to accelerate digital transformation in the cultural sector, from heritage management and cultural promotion to event organization and the development of the cultural industry. Alongside this, it is necessary to strengthen social participation and mobilize resources to reduce budgetary pressure and promote sustainable cultural development.

The city will also focus on preserving and promoting the value of tangible and intangible cultural heritage; building a healthy cultural environment, promoting the standards of Can Tho people in the new era; and improving the quality of the titles "Cultural Family" and "Cultural Hamlet/Area".

Furthermore, the city aims to improve the quality of cultural activities, meeting the diverse needs of its citizens; and to build communes and wards that meet the standards of "Comprehensive Cultural Development," contributing to the formation of a solid social foundation for socio-economic development.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep affirmed: "Can Tho will continue to innovate, create, and persistently build a system of cultural values and develop the people of Can Tho to meet the requirements of sustainable national development."

The Department of Personnel Organization, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is responsible for implementation.
