The reason behind the Indian billionaire's decision to rent out an entire resort and hold a 7-day wedding celebration in Ha Long Bay has been revealed.

Within just the first two weeks of February 2026, three weddings of Indian billionaires were held in Ha Long, the most recent being a wedding with approximately 500 guests, all of whom were Indian tycoons.

In recent years, Vietnam has gradually emerged on the world wedding tourism map as it has been chosen by many billionaire couples to hold the most important event of their lives.

Besides Phu Quoc and Da Nang , Ha Long is also a destination that many couples place their trust in. Located in the middle of Ha Long Bay, Reu Island has hosted more than 10 weddings of billionaires since 2022.

Between February 2nd and 15th alone, a resort on Reu Island hosted three consecutive Indian weddings. These were all large weddings with 400-500 guests each, mostly consisting of ultra-wealthy tycoons and major business owners in India.

A unique wedding

Representatives from the resort stated that the bride and groom's families had surveyed many famous wedding destinations around the world (including Phuket, Thailand) and several other countries. After a month of negotiations, Ha Long was finally chosen as the destination, with the requirement to hold a unique wedding ceremony in the middle of Ha Long Bay, a World Heritage site and natural wonder.

Each wedding takes place over 4-5 days, but the project, launched in May 2025, follows a well-structured plan and involves coordinated operation between the two parties.

Meetings and discussions between the parties are held continuously to ensure that each item is implemented according to the requirements.

The wedding venue, cuisine , and artistic performances are "tailor-made" and designed according to the couple's personalized requirements, ranging from luxurious and elegant to a wedding steeped in traditional Indian culture.

One of the weddings held in early February 2026 cost up to 80 billion VND for travel, organization, decoration, catering, and logistics.

Strict requirements

Billionaires don't mind spending money, but they have very strict requirements. Their top priority is absolute privacy and the highest international 5-star service standards. Each wedding is unique.

The entire wedding planning process undergoes multiple layers of scrutiny. From stage design, sound, lighting, and script to the authentic Indian menu, and especially the rigorous inspection of food safety and hygiene.

Traditional ceremonies are designed to be "tailor-made" to each client's needs, with a wide variety of choices for venues and locations.

The wedding guests were mostly from India's elite, so the reception and VIP guest management process needed to be of the highest level of sophistication and attentiveness.

Every aspect of the wedding, from the venue to the rituals, was meticulously coordinated between the resort and a team of Indian experts, ensuring the event ran smoothly.

From the main characters of the wedding to the guests, everyone was from the elite, demanding high standards of service. The resort mobilized its maximum room capacity and dedicated service staff.

Over 900 personnel, including hotel operations staff, decorators, chefs, performers, ceremonial experts, and logistics team, traveled from India to serve at the wedding.

In the future, this resort will continue to focus on developing a high-end Indian wedding destination, making Ha Long a world-class "Wedding destination," the number one choice for the super-rich seeking memorable moments in their lives.

In early March 2026, this resort was once again chosen by an Indian couple as the venue for their momentous life event, with approximately 600 guests. The wedding will last for six days.
