Searching for young technology talent

On May 16th, the Provincial Youth Union, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Department of Education and Training jointly organized the Final Round of the 29th Bac Ninh Provincial Young Informatics Competition 2026.

Opening the Final Round of the Competition, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union of Bac Ninh Province, Ha Thai Son, stated that this is an important annual event, marking the continuous development of the movement to learn and apply information technology.

Over the years, the competition has become a prestigious intellectual playground where students have the opportunity to showcase their talents, passions, and explore their immense potential in the field of information technology. In this year's Final Round, contestants compete in individual categories such as: Programming skills competition for students from primary to non-specialized high schools; and Mathematical thinking and algorithmic thinking competition for primary and secondary school students. For the team category, contestants compete in: Programming skills competition and creative product competition based on a given theme.

A new feature of the 29th Bac Ninh Provincial Youth Informatics Competition is the first year of implementing a two-tiered local government model, resulting in a larger number of participants than in previous years. Contestants were selected through a qualifying round, ensuring that each commune/ward could only select one contestant per category.

The Organizing Committee did not hold a separate competition for young officials and civil servants, but instead introduced two categories, M1 and M2, for mathematical thinking and algorithmic reasoning, for primary and secondary school students. Delegates and parents can directly monitor the entire competition process through the central LED screen.

At the conclusion of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates to the participating contestants; and presented first, second, third, and consolation prizes to the teams and individuals who achieved high results. Simultaneously, outstanding contestants were selected and trained to participate in the 32nd National Youth Informatics Competition in 2026 - Northern Region Cluster, to be held in Bac Ninh province in June 2026.
