Shocking news for Mr. Kim: Vi Hao returned to practice but was removed from V-League, afraid of missing the SEA Games?

On September 9, the Becamex TP.HCM Club page posted a status welcoming Bui Vi Hao to return to training with the team, but he will not be able to play in the V-League!

Bui Vi Hao recovered quickly but has not been able to play in the V-League yet.

The joyful status line of the fanpage of Becamex TP.HCM Club: "The afternoon rain only makes the grass greener, the dew only makes the air cooler... as for the hot part, let Bui Vi Hao take care of it!", along with a welcome back message sent to Coach Kim Sang-sik's favorite player.

Previously, at the end of March 2025, Bui Vi Hao was injured during a training session on a field of quite poor quality, before the match between Becamex TP.HCM and Ninh Binh FC in the quarter-finals of the National Cup.

MRI results confirmed that he had torn the ligaments in his right ankle and a fractured fibula. The young man from An Giang province underwent a fairly successful surgery in Ho Chi Minh City, followed by rehabilitation training in Ho Chi Minh City with a 1-on-1 regimen.

Physical therapists in Ho Chi Minh City assessed Vi Hao as very strong, persistent and determined to follow all the exercises. Combined with his good physique, he recovered very quickly, sooner than expected.

Since mid-August, Bui Vi Hao has been able to return to the field and start practicing additional exercises with the ball. After that, the striker born in 2003 has returned to training with Becamex TP.HCM Club, with the assessment from rehabilitation experts that Vi Hao will be able to play from the end of October.

But unfortunately, for unknown reasons, Becamex TP.HCM Club suddenly did not register Vi Hao for V-League, even though he himself had tried very hard and was ready for the day of return.

Vietnam U.23 team will miss Vi Hao in SEA Games 33 and U.23 Asia Finals?

Throughout the past time, Coach Kim Sang-sik has continuously updated the injury situation of Bui Vi Hao - his "favorite student" who caught his eye from the beginning, targeted by him as a key factor in renewing the Vietnamese team's attack, shown through his frequent starting appearances in the AFF Cup 2024.

Mr. Kim himself was very happy to hear about Vi Hao's rapid recovery progress. But he will probably be shocked to know that he was not registered by Coach Anh Duc in the Becamex TP.HCM Club's roster for the first leg of V-League 2025 - 2026.

It is very confusing, because according to the schedule of this season published by VPF, the first leg of V-League 2025 - 2026 will last until the end of February 2026, 4 months longer than the prediction that Vi Hao can compete again at the end of October.

I don’t know what coach Anh Duc and Becamex TP.HCM are planning. It’s not right to say that they are being careful because Vi Hao has already started training and has plenty of time to play in the first leg of the V-League. But clearly this is a loss for the team, as the attack line no longer has Tien Linh.

At the national level, the fact that Vi Hao only practices alone and cannot compete in a top environment directly affects the strength of the Vietnamese team and especially the U.23 Vietnam team before a series of important regional and continental tournaments.

It is known that coach Kim Sang-sik is planning to call up Vi Hao to check his recovery level at the FIFA Days in October. But clearly Vi Hao's current difficult situation is making it very likely that he will miss the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in December and the AFC U23 Championship in January 2026!

In addition to Vi Hao, at the beginning of this season, the list of players not registered by Becamex TP.HCM for the first leg of V-League 2025 - 2026 also includes national team player Ho Tan Tai, U.20 Vietnam national team player Nguyen Ngoc Chien... even though they have all been able to practice with the club.

Also, like Xuan Son, Ngoc Chien has been registered to play in the National Cup, while Bui Vi Hao and Ho Tan Tai have not been registered to play in this competition. In other words, the two national players of Becamex TP.HCM will be away from top-level football until February 2026!
