News, forecast of coffee prices tomorrow 7/20/2025

On July 19, the domestic coffee market unexpectedly increased sharply, with an increase of 1,700 - 1,800 VND/kg. In the international market, the two exchanges had opposite developments: Robusta in London increased in price, while Arabica in New York decreased.

Experts say the contrast is due to hedge funds overselling Robusta, leading to a buying spree on the London exchange. On the other hand, Arabica prices have been under pressure due to the accelerated coffee harvest in Brazil.

Despite the downward trend in coffee prices in some markets, coffee consumption in Vietnam remains very positive. Vietnam's coffee export prospects in the last 6 months of the year are considered optimistic, especially in key markets such as the EU and the US.

Domestic coffee price forecast on July 20, 2025

With the strong increase on July 19, domestic coffee prices are likely to maintain a positive trend on July 20, 2025. This increase is supported by the recovery of Robusta prices on the London floor and Vietnam's positive export prospects. However, the increase may not be as sudden as the previous session, but will be more stable.

International coffee price forecast on July 20, 2025

Robusta (London): Potential to continue its slight increase or move sideways at high levels. Covering pressure from hedge funds may remain, keeping Robusta prices stable or slightly higher.

Arabica (New York): May continue to be under slight downward pressure or flat. The rapid progress of the harvest in Brazil remains the main factor pressuring prices. In addition, traders are increasing coffee imports from Brazil to the US before August 1 (when the reciprocal tariffs take effect) may also create additional volatility. If the negotiations on coffee trade between Brazil and the US do not produce positive results, Arabica prices may face further downward pressure.

General future trends

Looking ahead, the global coffee market will continue to be influenced by many factors. The overall trend may fluctuate up and down depending on the supply and demand of each type of coffee.

For Robusta, position adjustment by funds and stable consumption demand could support prices.

For Arabica, weather conditions and harvest progress in Brazil will be key. In addition, trade policies between countries, especially regarding tariffs between the US and Brazil, will have a significant impact on trade flows and prices.

Vietnam's coffee export outlook for the second half of the year is generally positive, helping to strengthen confidence in the domestic market.
