Right from the first rounds, the Vietnamese players took the initiative, took advantage of the opportunity and took a 3-0 lead, creating an important psychological foundation. However, the lack of concentration in the middle of the match caused the Vietnamese baseball team to let Malaysia gradually reduce the score, 1-3 then 2-4.
As the match became more intense, the Vietnamese players kept their composure in key situations, defeating Malaysia with a final score of 5-2. This victory not only helped the Vietnamese men's baseball team improve their morale after the heavy loss to Thailand, but also opened up hopes of competing for a place in the medal round.
