After nearly 5 years of establishing the Corporate Culture and Communications Department and 4 years of implementing the Petrovietnam Cultural Regeneration Project, the Group has now completed the Petrovietnam cultural value system, which is: Brief history of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry, Petrovietnam Cultural Handbook with a core value system that is typical of oil and gas workers and a brand identity system that carries the aspirations of Petrovietnam in the new era. If those values are not promoted and brought to life by each oil and gas worker, they will soon fade away under the dust of time. Therefore, the typical cultural activities of oil and gas workers are constantly renewed such as: Oil and Gas Cultural Week, Spring of Oil and Gas Love, humanitarian blood donation program with the theme "Enthusiasm of Oil and Gas Workers", social security program with the theme "Love of Oil and Gas Workers", 3 million trees for a green Vietnam; The art programs "Journey of lighting the fire", the travelogue "Journey of the fire seeker", the journey "Spring from the oil wells"; the publications of CEO Mettings' diary, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group's energy transition, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group's digital transformation, the Handbook of communication work, corporate culture and social security, musical works such as East Sea fluttering the national flag, Petrovietnam Pride... have contributed to promoting and spreading Petrovietnam's cultural values.
Petrovietnam General Director Le Manh Hung congratulated the success of the online contest "I love Petrovietnam". |
Especially in the past 3 years, an extremely volatile period, Petrovietnam has formed a volatile management culture, from which it can be affirmed that corporate culture has contributed significantly to the Group's steady overcoming of the "double crisis" in 2020, recovering growth in 2021 and making records in production and business activities in 2022. Culture has also contributed to Petrovietnam's brand value in 2023 reaching approximately 1.4 billion USD, 3 times higher than in 2019 and the Group was recognized as meeting business culture standards in the first round of ranking according to the Prime Minister's Criteria.
The contest “I love Petrovietnam” once again promotes Petrovietnam’s cultural values, so that culture is always a solid foundation for the Group’s activities, fostering good feelings among generations of oil and gas workers, social consensus, affirming the Group’s position and role in the country’s socio-economic development. Petrovietnam today is not only a pillar of the country’s economy but also a national energy industry group, playing an important role in ensuring energy security, food security, economic security, contributing to maintaining national security at sea and actively participating in social security work. To realize that noble mission, Petrovietnam identifies building and developing culture as one of the eight key tasks in the Group’s development strategy.
The "I love Petrovietnam" contest was launched by the Group on August 11, 2023 in Thai Binh, considered the "cradle" of the Oil and Gas industry, which has added strength and enthusiasm to each employee participating in the contest. The contest took place over 5 days (from August 14 to 18, 2023) attracting nearly 24,000 employees and workers to participate. As soon as the contest was launched, 100% of the units deployed and announced it to all employees and workers, many of whom had their own plans to launch and implement in detail, offering internal awards to motivate and encourage employees to participate such as PVCFC; PVOIL; PV Power; Phu Quoc POC, PETROCONs, PVChem, PVFCCo, PV Drilling, PVI, BSR, PETROSETCO and the Group's Agencies.
The forms of propaganda about the contest are creatively expressed without limits through internal communication systems, information screens, standees at the office or through fanpages, social networking applications on the phone of the unit, of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union, and the Group's Youth Union. The forms of propaganda are rich and diverse; many images and propaganda paintings are created by employees and workers to promote the contest; information about the contest is updated daily on PetroTimes, the Group's electronic information portal and the communication systems of the units, creating an exciting competition among all employees.
The 50 questions of the contest guide contestants to learn about the process of formation, construction and development; important milestones of the Oil and Gas industry, the development orientation of the Group as well as learn about Petrovietnam culture.
When participating in the contest, all officers, engineers and oil and gas workers shared the same feeling that the contest was not only limited to cyberspace but had become a forum for exchanging and expressing love, so that each oil and gas worker on the journey to find the history of generations of fire-seekers could be more proud of the achievements and outstanding marks of Petrovietnam. Officers and workers participating in the contest from offices to oil and gas projects; from drilling rigs on the Vietnamese continental shelf, oil tankers across the world's seas to the remote Sahara desert participated in the contest to show their love and understanding for the "common home" Petrovietnam.
The atmosphere during the competition days was exciting and enthusiastic in all units in the Group, with an unprecedented number of contestants; the number of contestants increased exponentially every day, from 2,511 contestants on the first day, to 6,396 on the second day, to 10,640 on the third day, 16,483 on the fourth day and 23,895 contestants at the time the competition closed at 24:00 on August 18, 2023. Of the 33 participating units, 10 units achieved 100% of the number of employees participating in the exam; 22/33 units achieved over 50% of the number of employees participating in the exam; the unit with the largest number of employees participating in the exam was Vietsovpetro with 2,799 people, followed by PV GAS with 2,441 people, PV Power with 2,042 people. PV Drilling alone had 1,706 people (exceeding 110% due to attracting short-term workers to participate in the competition).
The results of the contest had impressive numbers when 800 people answered all 50 questions correctly; 12,708 (53.2%) answered from 45 to 49 questions correctly. The contest also made outstanding marks so far: such as the largest number of contestants taking the test outside of office hours (on average, every day outside of office hours from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., there were thousands of contestants); the largest number of interactions and comments on the social networking sites of the Group and units ever (about 25,000 visits, interactions and comments); the images of leaders and officers of the units participating in the contest were extremely rich and vivid; especially, the contest also received humorous and lively images from employees across the units to encourage and through that, it integrated answers to questions for the employees themselves to better understand the meaning of the contest. It is these seemingly simple things that have contributed to encouraging and spreading the contest to achieve good results.
On behalf of the Group's leaders, Petrovietnam General Director Le Manh Hung acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive results of the online contest "I love Petrovietnam". General Director Le Manh Hung emphasized that this was the first contest organized on a large scale throughout the Group, taking place at a very timely time in the roadmap and strategy of regenerating Petrovietnam culture. Through the results of the contest, General Director Le Manh Hung said that this accurately reflects the deep penetration and spread of Petrovietnam culture in each employee, each member of PVN as well as reflecting the results and successes of the process of regenerating Petrovietnam culture in the past time.
General Director Le Manh Hung sent his thanks to the oil and gas workers who actively participated and responded to the contest and hoped that "I love Petrovietnam" would not only stop at a contest but that each worker, through culture, process, and working attitude, would continue to express their spirit and love for the Group and its units. Love for Petrovietnam will be the driving force for the Group to develop more strongly and sustainably, worthy of its position as the leading national Industry - Energy Group.
