Signing ceremony of Lao coal purchase and sale contract between Vinacomin Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company and Vinacomin Northern Coal Trading Joint Stock Company with Xekong Energy Company Limited, Phonesack Group - Laos
On November 27, at the headquarters of Vinacomin Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company, the signing ceremony of the Coal Purchase and Sale Contract with Laos took place between Vinacomin Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company and Vinacomin Northern Coal Trading Joint Stock Company with Xekong Energy Company Limited, Phonesack Group - Laos.
The signing event took place in the context of Laos preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025), further highlighting the significance of the traditional, close and trustworthy cooperative relationship between the two countries.
The signing of this contract is the result of close exchanges and negotiations between the parties, and opens a new phase of cooperation in the field of coal trade between the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) and Lao energy enterprises.
Specifying the contents of coal trade cooperation between Vietnam and Laos
The ceremony was held to concretize the coal trade cooperation contents that have been discussed by the two sides in the past time, opening a new phase of cooperation between TKV and Lao enterprises; affirming the role of TKV in expanding the market, diversifying supply sources, ensuring stability and efficiency for the Group's production and business activities.
Previously, on November 9, 2025, in Vientiane, Laos, the Minister of Industry and Trade and the Minister of Energy and Mines of Laos signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two Governments on coal and electricity trading. This is a strategic document, laying the foundation for long-term cooperation between the two countries in the fields of energy and minerals.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, General Director of the Group Vu Anh Tuan affirmed: TKV always attaches importance to and prioritizes promoting cooperation with enterprises of Laos, a neighboring country with great friendship and special solidarity with Vietnam.
The signing of the coal purchase contract not only has economic significance but also marks an important milestone in enhancing trust and strategic cooperation between businesses of the two countries. TKV commits to effective, transparent and long-term cooperation with its Lao partner during the implementation of the contract.
Mr. Phonesack Vilaysack, General Director of Phonesack Group - Laos, highly appreciated the capacity and reputation of TKV and expressed his commitment to seriously implementing the contract contents and believed that cooperation between the two sides will continue to expand in many other fields.
The signing of the coal purchase contract with Laos is an important milestone, contributing to enhancing TKV's position in the international arena; promoting friendly and sustainable cooperation between enterprises of Vietnam and Laos.
At the same time, it affirms the Group's determination to diversify its commercial activities, proactively supply coal and flexibly adapt to the regional energy market context.
