Organizing the Grand Ceremony commemorating the 106th anniversary of the birth of Venerable Huynh Giao Chu, founder of Hoa Hao Buddhism.

(DTO) On the morning of January 13th (corresponding to the 25th day of the 11th lunar month of the Year of the Snake), at Buu Long Pagoda (An Hoa commune), the Representative Board of Hoa Hao Buddhism (PGHH) of Dong Thap province solemnly organized the Grand Ceremony commemorating the 106th anniversary of the birth of Venerable Huynh Giao Chu of PGHH (25th day of the 11th lunar month of the Year of the Goat – 25th day of the 11th lunar month of the Year of the Snake).

Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province, presented gifts to congratulate the Grand Ceremony.

Attending and congratulating the Grand Ceremony were Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province; representatives of leaders from provincial departments and agencies; the local government of An Hoa commune; and a large number of religious followers.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the history of the formation and development of the PGHH religion. Over the years, the Provincial PGHH Representative Board and all followers have consistently implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations; actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the local authorities.

Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and leaders of An Hoa commune presented gifts to households in difficult circumstances.

In 2025, the Provincial Representative Board of the PGHH (Hoa Hao Buddhist Association) coordinated the mobilization of social resources totaling over 172 billion VND. From this funding, the various levels of the association inaugurated 74 rural concrete bridges and built 540 charitable houses for the poor. In addition, charitable activities such as serving nearly 3 million free meals at hospitals, donating over 60,000 gifts to needy households, and supporting free eye surgery for nearly 1,500 patients have significantly contributed to the overall development of the province.

On this occasion, the Provincial Representative Board of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Association presented 400 gift packages (each containing rice, essential goods, and blankets worth 400,000 VND) to disadvantaged households in An Hoa and An Long communes. They also awarded 8 scholarships to orphaned students in the area, with a total gift value of 168 million VND. This meaningful activity demonstrates the spirit of "living a good life and upholding moral values" of the Hoa Hao Buddhist community on this important day.
