This film screening is a cultural and cinematic activity with profound political and social significance. Through these cinematic works, the aim is to educate about historical traditions, cultivate and promote patriotism, revolutionary heroism, solidarity, national pride, and self-reliance; and affirm the achievements of the Party and the people in the struggle for national liberation, and in building and defending the Fatherland.

The selected films for screening are of high artistic quality, with humanistic content and wholesome entertainment. The film week contributes to spreading positive cultural values, vividly reflecting social life, history, and national traditions; meeting the people's need for cultural and spiritual enjoyment, and creating an atmosphere of excitement towards the country's important political events in 2026.
The film festival also includes the opening activities of the Quang Ninh Province Culture, Sports , and Tourism Week to welcome summer 2026 with the theme "Ha Long Carnival 2026 - Wonders Shining Brightly in a New Era".
Furthermore, to provide access to high-quality films and selected copyrighted entertainment content, the Vietnam Film Department, in collaboration with Viettel Telecom and the TV360 Television Service Center, is distributing the feature film "Underground Tunnels - The Sun in the Darkness" to the general public through the TV360 platform, as well as films selected by the Film Department for this film series, through mobile film screenings in 34 provinces and cities nationwide.
The film program during this film festival includes feature films: “The Tunnel - The Sun in the Darkness” produced by Hoan Khue Film Production Joint Stock Company; documentaries: “Following in My Father's Footsteps” (produced by Vietking Media Joint Stock Company); “Doctor on the Island Commune” (produced by Giai Phong Film Joint Stock Company), “Veteran of the Old Quarter” (produced by HDA Film Co., Ltd.), “The Journey Home with Do Paper”; “Two Fronts” (produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Company Limited); and animated films: “The Little Boy”; “The Dien Bien Promise”; “Warm Glow”; “Colorful Marbles”; “Poocbaga” (produced by Vietnam Animation Film Joint Stock Company). The film “The Tunnel - The Sun in the Darkness” was selected to open the film festival.
