Plan International Vietnam working in Nam Dan commune

On the morning of November 12, Plan International Vietnam had a working session with the People's Committee of Nam Dan commune to evaluate the results of the programs and projects being implemented and to orient cooperation in the coming time. Attending the meeting were representatives of Uniqlo Group; Plan International Japan; leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Education and Training.

Over the years, Plan International has accompanied Nam Dan commune in its development with comprehensive support programs on education , health, child protection, livelihoods and gender equality, contributing to significantly improving people's lives. In the period of 2021 - 2025, Plan International and Nam Dan commune implemented 14 projects, with a total budget of more than 11 billion VND, intervening in schools and benefiting communities, including more than 2,000 students and 100 teachers.

A typical example is the project “Protecting minors and young people aged 11-24 from child marriage and consanguineous marriage”, sponsored by Plan International Japan and Uniqlo Group. Thanks to this, 1,000 students, 100 teachers and 20 cases at risk of child marriage have been intervened and directly benefited.

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the People's Committee of Nam Dan commune thanked Plan for always accompanying and helping the locality improve infrastructure, raise community awareness and people's quality of life. At the same time, they hoped that Plan would continue to support in the following areas: Developing school facilities that are safe from natural disasters; livelihood models that adapt to climate change; providing clean water and electricity for daily life; and supporting centralized waste treatment.

Plan organization, representative of Uniqlo Group gave shirts and gifts to students and people in the commune.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Le Quynh Lan, Director of Plan International Vietnam, acknowledged the achievements and committed to continue to closely coordinate with the locality in implementing programs to support children, women and vulnerable groups, towards the goal of sustainable development, equality and safety for all people in Nam Dan commune.
