Speaking at the seminar, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Anh Quan said: Korea is currently the second largest investor in terms of the number of projects with 186 projects and the largest in terms of total registered investment capital in Hai Phong, reaching 14.2 billion USD. Korean investors' projects operate effectively, focusing on high-tech products, contributing to improving the technology and science content of local enterprises, promoting export turnover, creating jobs and making important contributions to the city budget. Hai Phong highly appreciates the business community in general, especially Korean enterprises, which have actively accompanied the city's development in recent times. The city is committed to always accompanying and creating favorable conditions for FDI enterprises to confidently invest long-term, effectively and sustainably in the locality.
In the coming time, Hai Phong will continue to focus on improving the business investment environment, supporting enterprises in accessing land, credit, human resources and training high-quality labor resources. At the same time, the city will promote support for domestic enterprises, especially small enterprises, to build the capacity to cooperate with FDI enterprises, access advanced technology and cooperate effectively with Korean enterprises.
Representative of Korean enterprises, Chairman of the Korean Business Association in Hai Phong (KOCHAM) Seog Myeong Gug said: The seminar has practical significance, creating opportunities for Vietnamese and Korean enterprises in Hai Phong to understand and cooperate more deeply, especially in the field of supplying supporting products and human resources. This cooperation helps FDI enterprises reduce production costs, improve competitiveness and contribute to strengthening competitiveness in the international market.
At the seminar, Vice President of KOCHAM Hai Phong Lee Kyung Hee shared specific solutions to improve the business investment environment in Hai Phong, emphasizing the role of human resource quality. Accordingly, the city needs to improve the quality ofeducation and vocational training according to international standards, focusing on key industries such as industrial engineering, automation, electronics, artificial intelligence (AI) at universities in the area. At the same time, promote the teaching of Korean and other foreign languages, focusing on soft skills training such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving. He also proposed to build training cooperation programs between vocational training institutions in Vietnam and Korea, develop training links, student and lecturer exchanges. In addition, Hai Phong needs to encourage Korean enterprises to participate in developing training programs, and at the same time provide internship opportunities for students.
Director of Thang Long International Solutions Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phu, said that small and medium enterprises still face difficulties in approaching large enterprises, especially FDI enterprises. Therefore, this Dialogue program is considered an important first step, helping Vietnamese and Korean enterprises to enhance understanding and seek cooperation opportunities in the future./.
