Discussion “The Youth of the Late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho”: Honoring a Great Personality, a Loyal Revolutionary Example

On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the birth of the late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho (July 10, 1910 - July 10, 2025), on the morning of July 9, at the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center, the Southern Vietnam Youth Union Former Cadres Liaison Committee in coordination with the Southern Central Bureau Youth Union Resistance Tradition Club Liaison Committee held a discussion with the theme "The Youth of the late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho".

In his opening speech, Dr. Le Hong Liem - former Deputy Head of the Central Inspection Committee , Head of the Southern Union's Former Cadres Liaison Committee, shared: Documents about the late Lawyer's youth are still quite scarce, because he was a modest person and rarely talked about himself. However, it was that quality that highlighted his great personality, pure revolutionary ethics and the stature of a loyal communist, who devoted his life to the people and the country.

Associate Professor, Doctor Huynh Thi Gam - former Head of the Ho Chi Minh Ideology Department (Regional Political Academy II) - affirmed: "The late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho is a shining star, a typical image of the revolutionary era, the Ho Chi Minh era."

According to Dr. Huynh Thi Gam, his contributions not only have historical value but are also precious spiritual heritages, with profound theoretical and practical significance for the current cause of national construction and protection.

At the seminar, the presentations contributed to clarifying the life, career and noble ideals of the late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho. In particular, his role in consolidating the great national unity bloc, building the people's armed forces and maintaining faith in the revolutionary path led by President Ho Chi Minh and the Party was emphasized as a prominent mark in his career.

Many delegates also shared about the work of educating revolutionary traditions associated with the late Lawyer's example in schools, especially at establishments named after him. Activities to commemorate, care for and promote the value of the Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho memorial site in Long An province (now Tay Ninh province) - his hometown are continuing to be maintained and promoted effectively, becoming a "red address" for young generations to study and learn about a talented leader and staunch patriot.

The discussion was not only an opportunity to review the steadfast revolutionary journey and noble ideals of the late Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho, but also an opportunity to emphasize the important role of educating the younger generation on revolutionary ideals. His personality, morality and life example will continue to spread, becoming a strong source of inspiration for Vietnamese youth on the path of nation building.
