The seminar on the role and responsibility of music workers in Ho Chi Minh City was organized by the City Music Association to promptly grasp the thoughts, aspirations, opinions and suggestions of cadres and members in the process of implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws; to strengthen propaganda and education on professional ethics, to orient music composition and performance, to contribute to orienting artistic aesthetics, preserving professional ethics and spreading the values of truth, goodness and beauty in musical life.
The discussion was held on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association (November 28, 1981 - November 28, 2025), and is one of the professional activities with practical significance, closely linked to the cultural and artistic life in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the seminar, the Organizing Committee hopes to clarify with those who are working in music in Ho Chi Minh City the following issues: the existing problems in the music life in Ho Chi Minh City; the responsibilities and roles of those working in the city's music in the face of existing problems in the music life; the issues of developing creative activities, composing and performing music in Ho Chi Minh City; and building a music and cultural industry in Ho Chi Minh City today.
Based on this content, the delegates listened to 5 presentations and many positive contributions from musicians, singers, music theory and criticism researchers, lecturers from art and culture schools, delving into existing issues, such as: the current state of music activities in Ho Chi Minh City; the influence of "non-standard" music on the psychological development of children;...

Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Tho Truyen highly appreciated the opinions of the delegates, thereby promoting the sense of responsibility of those working in music. In particular, according to him, the opinions focused on 4 important roles of music that need more attention, including the strong impact of music on the cultural and spiritual life of the people; promoting the community connection of music; focusing on the educational value of music for children and young people; and finally, activities to preserve traditional cultural and artistic values in the new era.
