From November 7-9, 2025, the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival with the theme "Hanoi Ao Dai - Shining the quintessence of heritage" will take place at Hanoi Museum and Hoan Kiem Lake area, organized by Hanoi Department of Tourism.
Speaking at a press conference on the afternoon of October 31, Mr. Nguyen Tran Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, said: Ao Dai is a cultural symbol closely associated with the nation's history, both a heritage and a "tourism ambassador" promoting the image of Vietnam to the world. This year's festival continues to affirm the role of Ao Dai in honoring the identity of Vietnamese women, while promoting tourism, connecting heritage with economic development.
The festival includes a series of special activities such as: Opening ceremony of the art " Hanoi Ao Dai - Shining the quintessence of heritage", children's Ao Dai performance, final round of the design contest "Ao Dai - Connecting heritage", parade around Hoan Kiem Lake, "Touching Autumn in Hanoi" experience tour, and Ao Dai performance by 350 women of the capital.

The festival space is decorated with inspiration from Hanoi's autumn colors, promising to bring an attractive cultural and tourist highlight, contributing to affirming the image of Hanoi - a "Safe, friendly, quality, attractive" destination.
After four years of organization, the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival has attracted a large number of people and domestic and foreign tourists, spreading the love of ao dai and promoting the ao dai as a typical tourist souvenir product of Vietnam.
According to designer Duc Hung, this is a “wonderful creative playground” for designers, while also inspiring the public to love and be more proud of the ao dai – a symbol of Vietnamese culture.
This year, Trach Xa tailoring village (Ung Hoa) – a national intangible cultural heritage with over 1,000 years of history – will participate with a collection of traditional ao dai, a product display booth and a procession of the tailoring profession's founder.
During the three days of the event, the Hanoi Museum will have more than 80 booths gathering designers, brands, weaving - embroidery - silk artisans; a photo exhibition "Hanoi - Heritage Ao Dai", a space for taking photos in the context of Khue Van Cac and Hanoi's Old Quarter.
The festival also organizes creative experience workshops such as folk embroidery, ao dai pattern painting, making handmade accessories, and traditional art performances: ca tru, quan ho, cheo, xam... and folk games such as o an quan, dancing, tug of war.
The opening night on November 7 at the main stage of the Hanoi Museum will kick off a series of colorful events, bringing together famous designers, models, and artists, bringing a carefully choreographed Ao Dai performance, honoring traditional beauty in a modern breath.
Through the festival, Hanoi continues to affirm its orientation of developing tourism associated with culture, aiming to make Ao Dai a symbol of the capital's tourism identity, while encouraging the community, artisans and businesses to join hands to preserve and spread Vietnamese cultural values in the new era.
