According to observations by Tien Phong reporters, this morning (January 14th), the barriers along Hanoi's Ring Road 1 from the Hoang Cau - Yen Lang intersection to Voi Phuc have been largely removed. The project road (one-way), with a cross-section equivalent to more than two lanes, is now clearly visible, allowing people to travel by car and motorbike from Hoang Cau to Voi Phuc along a distance of approximately 2.2 km.

Additionally, the project includes two overpasses: one at the Lang Ha intersection, 18m wide with 4 lanes for two-way traffic, and a total length of 250.7m; and the second overpass at the Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection, 18m wide with 4 lanes for two-way traffic, and a total length of 220.7m.

The temporary road section, 7 meters wide and over 2 kilometers long, has been largely completed to facilitate traffic diversion. Signage and traffic signals have been fully installed at intersections to ensure safety. Simultaneously, the contractor continues construction of utility trenches, rainwater drainage culverts, and utility pipe bundles along the route – fundamental components for long-term operation.

The Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section of Ring Road 1 has been underway in Hanoi for over 10 years with a total investment of over 7,000 billion VND; however, the project has been repeatedly delayed due to land acquisition issues, caused by approximately 300 households within the project area who have not yet agreed to hand over their houses and buildings.

Since mid-June 2020, the Lang Ha – Giang Vo overpass project has commenced. Now, after the land has been fully handed over, the entire route is entering its accelerated construction phase.

From December 2025 to the present, under the direct guidance and supervision of the City Party Secretary and the leaders of the City People's Committee, the project has successively completed land clearance and technical construction work in just over a month.

The completion of the technical route facilitates convenient and safe traffic flow for residents through the area, while also reducing pressure on neighboring routes.

According to the plan, the project will be completed by December 30, 2026. Once operational, the Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section will contribute to reducing traffic congestion, improving the living environment, enhancing the quality of urban infrastructure, and meeting the increasing travel needs of Hanoi residents.
