QTO - Information from the Provincial Civil Defense Command on the morning of October 31 said that from now until November 2, Quang Tri province will have moderate to heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain. The floods in recent days have caused dozens of landslides and flooding on many roads and residential areas. Localities in the whole province have evacuated more than 220 households/617 people to cope with the floods.

According to statistics, the whole province has 21 landslides in the communes of Dakrong, Kim Ngan, Le Thuy, Nam Hai Lang, Huong Hiep; 15 flooding points on national highways and provincial roads; 29 points on inter-commune and village traffic routes. The whole province has 1,236 houses flooded; over 10,600 students in 43 schools had to temporarily close to ensure safety.

Specifically, there are 4 flooded spots on national highways, including: National Highway 49C at Km32+950-Km33+600 is flooded 25-35cm, Km33+600-Km35+500 (Vinh Dinh commune) is flooded 50-70cm, Km36+750-Km41+076 (My Thuy commune) is flooded 60-80cm; National Highway 9B at underground Km41+900, Km43+700 is flooded 0.3-0.4m.

There are 11 flooded spots on provincial roads, including: Provincial Road 565C at Km2+400-Km7+300 is flooded 0.2-0.8m; Provincial Road 564 at Km0+00-Km7+300 is flooded 0.2-0.3m; Provincial Road 582 at Km3+400-Km6+500 (Dien Sanh commune) is flooded 50-70cm; Km8+600-Km9+420 (Vinh Dinh commune) is flooded 20-30cm; Provincial Road 582b at Km3+400-Km3+700, Km4+700-Km5+290 (Dien Sanh commune) is flooded 40-50cm; Provincial Road 584 at Km8+050-Km9+180 (Dien Sanh commune) is flooded 20-25cm, Km9+700-Km16+800 (Dien Sanh commune and Nam Hai Lang commune) is flooded 50-70cm; Provincial Road 588a at Ba Long spillway/Km11+240 (Ba Long commune) is flooded about 3m; Provincial Road 586 at underground Km36+500, Km37+850 (A Doi commune) is flooded 0.3-0.4m; Provincial Road 587 at underground Km1+700 (Khe Sanh commune) is flooded 0.3-0.4m.

There are 29 flooded points on inter-village and inter-commune roads in the whole province, including: Quang Ninh commune, 2 points, Hoan Lao commune, 2 points, Kim Ngan commune, 1 point, La Lay commune, 2 points, Vinh Dinh commune, 7 points and 10 schools, Huong Lap commune, 1 point, Ba Long commune, 7 points, Dakrong commune, 2 points and 2 schools, Ta Rut commune, 2 points.

As of 8:00 a.m. on October 31, the entire province still had 1,236 houses/3,739 people flooded in the communes of Ninh Chau, Le Thuy, Dien Sanh, Nam Hai Lang, Hai Lang, My Thuy and Quang Tri ward. To ensure safety, localities have organized the evacuation of 223 households/617 people and 14 officers and soldiers of the La Lay International Border Gate Border Guard Station to a safe place.

The whole province has 21 landslides on traffic routes, specifically, there are 3 points on national highways, including: National Highway 9C at Km29+100, Km38+400 (Kim Ngan commune) with a positive slope landslide of 60m in length, with a volume of about 2,500m 3 ; National Highway 9B at Km 77+700 (Kim Ngan commune) with a positive slope landslide, with a volume of about 3,500m 3 ; National Highway 9 at Km48+120-140 with a positive slope landslide, with a volume of about 200m 3 .

On provincial road 587, there are 4 landslides, including: Section Km4-Km12, many locations of the road surface are eroded, creating deep grooves, making traffic difficult, posing a potential risk of traffic safety; especially landslides, slides, and road surface breaks at 4 locations, including: Km5+200 size 8x4x2m, Km6+300 size 10x3x3m, Km10+600 size 10x3x3m and Km13+100 size 7x3x2m.

In addition, in Nam Hai Lang, Dakrong, Le Thuy, Kim Ngan, Huong Hiep communes and Ta Rut commune, there are 13 landslides on inter-village and inter-commune traffic routes.
