Tonight, the Vietnamese women's team will compete for the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games.

The women's football final at the SEA Games will take place at 7:30 PM today (December 17th) between the Vietnam and Philippines women's teams.

The Vietnamese women's team has a great chance of retaining the gold medal. Speaking before the match, coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed that reaching the final match of the SEA Games is entirely deserved given what the Vietnamese women's team has shown.

"Our Vietnamese women's football team truly deserves to be in the final. This is the last match of the SEA Games 33, and the whole team will try their best. The Philippines is a very strong opponent, and we must concentrate intensely on this match," emphasized coach Mai Duc Chung.

Coach Mai Duc Chung stated that the coaching staff and players always show great respect for their opponents. “We respect the Philippines. They defeated the host team in a tense and challenging match to reach the final. The Philippines have better physical strength and stature than us. The whole team will try to overcome our weaknesses to perform at our best in the final,” he said.

Experienced goalkeeper Kim Thanh affirmed that the entire team is ready for the final match. “My team and I have prepared thoroughly and are ready for tomorrow’s game. We will try to utilize short passes, small combinations, one-two passes, and through balls. The whole team is determined to play with 100% effort to defend the gold medal,” Kim Thanh shared.

The goalkeeper of the Vietnamese women's national team added that after the loss to the Philippines in the group stage, the whole team learned many important lessons. "We have learned from our mistakes and will strictly adhere to the tactics set by the coaching staff. Everyone should come to the stadium and witness this final match," Kim Thanh said.

On the opposite side, the head coach of the Philippine women's national team, Mark Torcaso, expressed his excitement ahead of the match against the Vietnamese women's national team. "I'm very excited about the final. We respect Vietnam, and this will certainly be a tough match. The whole team is proud to be in the final and will give our all for our country," he said.
