The competition, organized by the Soldier's Heart organization in collaboration with the Vietnam Women's Museum and the Forever 20 Club, awarded prizes on December 16th in Hanoi .

Searching for beautiful, touching love stories.

According to the organizers, after five years of launching the initiative, hundreds of works with profound humanistic significance have been published, and hundreds of valuable artifacts have been donated. Beautiful and touching love stories during wartime, and examples of the silent sacrifices of women on the home front, have been discovered and brought to the public.

As a result, the organizing committee awarded the first prize to the work " Life Lives On" by martyr Tran Minh Tien (1945 - 1968).

This book, with over 500 pages, consists of two main parts: the battlefield diary " Returning in a Dream" and "Love Letters Through the War ." Previously, these individual parts were also compiled and introduced by Mr. Dang Vuong Hung.

The book depicts a beautiful, touching, and unusual love story during wartime, between a beautiful woman and a soldier who died on the battlefield. The extraordinary and enduring love between Ms. Vu Luu Lien and Mr. Tran Minh Tien has been famous in the media for the past decade.

After her lover's death, Liu Lian remarried, but for over 50 years, she and her husband and children have worshipped her former lover in their own home, preserving all his mementos and even publishing his diaries and letters.

Lien's husband and children all regarded her former lover, her mother's lover, as a member of the family. Lien herself, her husband, even persuaded her to agree to publish the letters they exchanged.

In addition to the first prize for "Life Lasts Forever," the organizers awarded joint prizes to seven other works.

Honoring the soldiers of wartime

Also at the ceremony, the organizers announced a project to restore color portraits of Private soldiers from wartime, portraits of soldiers in their late teens and early twenties.

Hundreds of portraits of Private soldiers from wartime have been restored in color, and the work is still ongoing…

According to Colonel and writer Dang Vuong Hung, chairman of the Vietnamese Soldiers' Heart Organization, the reason for this project is to pay tribute to the "ordinary soldiers"—privates and corporals—who sacrificed the most in the war but are least remembered.

"Through this activity, we want the community to pay more attention to ordinary soldiers. These are the people who silently dedicated themselves and sacrificed during the war, but are little known in peacetime ," said Mr. Dang Vuong Hung.
