The visit took place at a very important time when Laos celebrated the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day, right in the period before the Congress of the two Parties held in 2026 to make decisions on development orientations for each country.
According to Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong, one of the important activities of General Secretary To Lam's visit is the high-level meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party - the most important mechanism in the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and two countries.
During the visit, General Secretary To Lam will hold talks and meetings with senior Lao leaders and attend the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Laos' National Day on December 2.
Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh believes that the results of this trip will contribute to strengthening political trust, promoting substantive cooperation and bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
"The visit creates new momentum for strategic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of economy, infrastructure connectivity, energy, trade and education and training," Ms. Khamphao Ernthavanh added.
