On the evening of November 14, General Secretary To Lam attended the National Great Unity Day in Thuong Cat ward, Hanoi city.

Also attending were comrades: Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee; Pham Gia Tuc, Party Central Committee member, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; representatives of leaders of central agencies, ministries, departments, branches and Hanoi city; and a large number of people from Thuong Cat ward.

According to the report of the Fatherland Front of Thuong Cat Ward, there are currently 18 residential groups, more than 6,400 households with more than 25,000 people in the ward. The majority of people live mainly on agricultural production. Right from the first days of operating the 2-level local government model, the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and socio-political organizations quickly started to implement activities according to the new model. Propaganda and mobilization work is regularly innovated to create high consensus in society. Campaigns and patriotic emulation movements are deployed synchronously, associated with the emulation movements "Creative solidarity", "Building a bright, green, clean and beautiful Hanoi". Along with doing well the work of paying gratitude to people with meritorious services and policy families, the ward always focuses on doing a good job of social security. There are no more poor households in the ward, people's lives are increasingly improved. The ward has successfully built models of "Civilized-Safe-Self-Managed Neighborhood Groups", "Digital Mailboxes - Fronts listening to people's opinions"; people actively participate in monitoring construction investment projects in the area and monitoring Party members according to Regulation 213-QD/TW, dated January 2, 2020, contributing opinions to build the Party and the political system of the ward...

Attending and sharing joy with the people of Thuong Cat ward, the General Secretary was delighted to hear the report of the Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and through the speeches of representatives of residential groups and through the eyes and smiles of the people, he expressed his excitement and pride in the results achieved in 2025, in the 2020 - 2025 term and his aspirations for the future directions of the country. Analyzing this point of view more clearly, the General Secretary cited specific examples in the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole country was of one mind; in natural disasters, storms, floods, landslides, from mountainous to coastal areas, the solidarity of compatriots shone brightly; in institution building, people gave frank and responsible comments on the process of building the legal system, especially the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Party Congress...

The General Secretary also pointed out that in the organization and operation of the two-level local government, in the arrangement of administrative units at the provincial and communal levels, we have made the people's consensus the prerequisite; the people's satisfaction, reliance on the people, and the happiness of the people are the measures of success. The support of the vast majority of people from all walks of life for the Party and the State in the renovation process, in "rearranging the country" is the driving force, the unparalleled source of strength for the Party to confidently carry out its political tasks, resolutely implement the guidelines and policies, especially the contents of the Resolutions set forth by the 13th Party Congress and previous Party Congresses.

On the front of defending the Fatherland, preserving independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity on land, at sea, in the airspace and in cyberspace, we are steadfast in principles, flexible in tactics, promoting the combined strength of the great national unity bloc, combining the strength of the times. On regional and international forums, Vietnam is always proactive, positive, responsible and trusted by friends because we are a unified will of the entire nation.

The General Secretary also emphasized that before our eyes are milestones as goals to strive for development, prosperity, well-being, and longevity, which are the goals of 100 years of the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030, 100 years of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2045. The aspiration of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization" requires new internal strength, new growth model, new development drivers: green transformation, digital transformation, science and technology, innovation, circular economy. But the foundation to go far, to succeed is still solidarity. Solidarity to remove institutional bottlenecks; solidarity to unlock all resources; solidarity to share risks, multiply opportunities; solidarity so that no one is left behind...

The General Secretary affirmed that Great Unity begins with Unity within the Party: the Party must be truly clean, strong, unified in will and action; words must match actions; set an example, be honest and disciplined. Unity within the political system: The Party, the State, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations coordinate harmoniously, effectively and efficiently. Unity among social classes: workers - farmers - intellectuals - businessmen - artists - the elderly - women - youth - children - veterans - compatriots of all religions and ethnic groups; each force has a position, responsibility and glory in the common journey. And international unity: make more friends and less enemies, respect each other, build peace together, develop sustainably together.

To bring that spirit into daily life, to produce measurable results, the General Secretary emphasized 7 specific groups of tasks that need to be implemented: People are the root; Discipline - integrity; Streamlined apparatus; Unleashing resources for development; Social security - culture - people; National defense - security linked with foreign affairs, international integration. The Front - unions - social organizations - Vietnamese communities abroad, international friends need to be connected more closely and more widely through people-to-people diplomacy activities, through connections in sports, culture, tourism, education and training, people-to-people exchanges...

The General Secretary emphasized that Solidarity is very close, very ordinary, it is the breath and rhythm of daily life. Solidarity is a look of trust, a handshake of sharing, a warm and sympathetic word, a thorough work, the love of the village and the neighborhood... At the agency, office, turn the meeting into a forum to find solutions, a place to find common denominators, find solutions to all problems in the spirit of "learning from teachers is not as good as learning from friends". At the local level, consider people's satisfaction as the measure of all decisions. To localities and establishments, where all activities of daily social life take place, the General Secretary emphasized: must be democratic, open, transparent; dialogue to create consensus; must build a culture of thinking correctly, thinking far ahead, thinking with the people, thinking for the people; must speak frankly, speak truthfully, speak concisely; must do things quickly, do them firmly; do them thoroughly... must protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people and officials. Whatever is beneficial to the people must be done to the best of our ability; whatever is harmful to the people must be avoided at all costs. The destination is a more streamlined apparatus, better service, lower social costs, and higher development opportunities.
