To commemorate the 96th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026), to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Party, and in preparation for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, on the afternoon of February 10, at the Party Central Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam met with members of the subcommittees preparing for the 14th Party Congress and members of the Steering Committee for summarizing some theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented reform process in Vietnam over the past 40 years.
Members of the Politburo , including National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and Standing Committee member Tran Cam Tu, co-chaired the meeting.
At the meeting, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the organization of the 14th Party Congress was carried out in a special context: the world situation was rapidly and complexly changing; the demands for national development in the new period were increasingly high, and at the same time, many very large, difficult, and sensitive tasks had to be implemented, especially streamlining the organizational structure, rearranging administrative units, and organizing local governments at two levels.
In particular, during the preparation for the Congress, our Party suffered an immense loss: the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - the person who laid the first foundation for the preparation of the 14th Party Congress.
The passing of our comrade is both a profound loss and places a very high demand on courage, unity, steadfastness, and political responsibility in continuing to prepare for the successful organization of the Congress.

The General Secretary affirmed that the success of the 14th Party Congress was the result of the unity, solidarity, and tremendous efforts of the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army; including the very important contributions of the Subcommittees and the Steering Committee for summarizing 40 years of reform, along with the advisory and support agencies. It was the result of a process of persistent, serious, and scientific intellectual work; of a high sense of responsibility; of silent sacrifices, overcoming immense pressure in terms of time, workload, and very high quality requirements.
One of the key new features in the document's development is the integration of three major reports, along with their respective action programs, into a unified whole. This not only makes the document more concise and coherent, but more importantly, it demonstrates a dialectical, comprehensive, and highly action-oriented approach.
Within a short period of time, the Subcommittees have made great efforts to coordinate and implement the plan with a high sense of responsibility, meeting the set objectives and requirements.
The personnel work for the 14th Party Congress was prepared meticulously, cautiously, impartially, and in accordance with principles; adhering closely to Party regulations; and harmoniously combining inheritance and development, stability and innovation.
The results of the one-time election, which fully met the planned quotas, with a high concentration of votes, reflected the quality of personnel preparation and the high level of unity throughout the Party.
Furthermore, the organization and service for the Congress were meticulously and systematically implemented, with many innovations; demonstrating the responsibility, discipline, and dedication of the staff involved in providing services – silent but important contributions that helped create a solemn, intellectual, democratic, and compliant atmosphere, ensuring the successful conclusion of the Congress.

The General Secretary emphasized that immediately after the Congress, the work of finalizing the documents continued to be carried out actively and urgently.
By February 7th, the process of incorporating the Congress's feedback was completed, and the official document was announced at the nationwide conference for dissemination and implementation – shortening the timeframe by more than a month compared to the previous term. This affirms that the Subcommittees, Steering Committees, and advisory and support agencies have excellently fulfilled their assigned tasks, clearly demonstrating the role of the Party's strategic advisory staff.
The General Secretary highly appreciated the sense of responsibility; the serious, scientific, and open-minded working methods; and the close coordination among the Subcommittees.
The process of finalizing the documents involved debates and differing opinions, but ultimately all agreed on a very valuable common point: placing the interests of the Party, the country, and the people above all else; being ready to listen and engage in frank discussions to reach the highest level of consensus and prepare best for the Congress. Emphasizing the efforts of the members of the Subcommittees that have crystallized into the documents, the Party's major policies and decisions, so that the 14th Party Congress truly becomes a Congress of intellect, courage, and aspirations for development, the General Secretary warmly acknowledged, praised, and sincerely thanked the efforts of the members of the Subcommittees preparing for the 14th Party Congress and the Steering Committee for summarizing 40 years of reform, which have made a significant contribution to the success of the Congress.
The General Secretary stated that the 14th National Congress of the Party marks an important turning point in the country's development process, opening up a new path of action with high aspirations and demands.
The documents are ready, the policies are clear, and the goals have been defined; the crucial issue now is to translate the spirit of the Congress into concrete actions, tangible results, and substantive changes in the life of the country.

The General Secretary requested that members of the Subcommittees, in their respective positions, directly or indirectly, continue to contribute their intellect, experience, and dedication to actively participate in the thorough understanding, concretization, and implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Congress; and to contribute to the Party's two major review projects: the review of 40 years of implementing the Platform for National Construction during the transitional period to Socialism (1991) to deepen theoretical and practical issues on the path to Socialism in Vietnam in the new situation; and the review of 100 years of the Party's leadership of the Vietnamese revolution, comprehensively reviewing the Party's leadership of the country in achieving independence, unification, construction, and development; thereby outlining the national development path for the next 100 years, with a long-term vision, strategic thinking, and a stronger aspiration for development.
Emphasizing the immense and challenging nature of the tasks, which require collective intelligence, political acumen, and depth of theoretical and practical knowledge, the General Secretary expressed his hope that members of the Subcommittees would continue to contribute to these important endeavors; affirming that the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat of the 14th Party Congress always appreciate, listen to, and expect the continued support and contributions of its members.
The General Secretary requested the Central Party Office to comprehensively summarize and evaluate the preparation and organization of the 14th Party Congress; draw valuable lessons for the next term; and appropriately commend and reward outstanding collectives and individuals; and coordinate with the Central Organizing Committee and relevant agencies to fully implement the regulations and policies for members of the Subcommittees and Steering Committees as prescribed.
On the eve of the New Year, celebrating the Party, the Spring Festival, and the country entering a new era of development, the General Secretary wishes all comrades and their families good health, happiness, and success; and encourages them to continue to uphold the spirit of dedication, the flame of enthusiasm, and unwavering faith in the path chosen by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and our people.
