General Secretary To Lam and his wife successfully concluded their State visit to Laos.

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the evening of December 2, General Secretary To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left Wattay International Airport in Vientiane, Laos, successfully concluding the State visit, attending the 50th National Day Celebration of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and co-chairing the High-level Meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife from December 1-2, 2025.

During the visit, General Secretary To Lam held talks with Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith; met with Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane; visited former senior leaders of Laos; attended the 50th National Day celebration; laid wreaths at the Monument to Unknown Soldiers; delivered a policy speech at the Lao National Academy of Politics and Public Administration; attended the inauguration ceremony of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Park and several other activities; co-chaired the High-level Meeting between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party...

During the visit, the two sides signed a number of important cooperation documents, creating a legal corridor, opening up new cooperation directions, in accordance with the development requirements of each country and the common interests of the two peoples, continuing to deepen the special Vietnam - Laos relationship in the new situation.

During the meetings, the leaders of the two countries had in-depth discussions on the situation in each country. The two sides agreed to effectively promote cooperation mechanisms, deepen the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries through existing cooperation mechanisms as well as high-level visits and exchanges in flexible forms, information on ideological foundations, strategic policies, theoretical exchanges, especially on new issues; closely coordinate and support the good organization of important events in the two countries, first of all the Party Congresses of each country, thereby continuing to affirm the new height of the Vietnam-Laos political relationship. The two sides agreed to continue to promote and innovate the content and forms of propaganda and education on the traditional history of the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos for cadres, Party members, people and young generations of the two countries; arouse pride, responsibility and awareness of preserving and promoting the loyal, pure and strategic relationship between the two Parties and the two peoples.

On the basis of inheriting and promoting the tradition of special solidarity, the two sides agreed to deepen bilateral relations by adding new connotations: “Great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic cohesion”. This is an affirmation of the common vision, intertwined strategic interests and long-term companionship orientation for the goal of sustainable development, self-reliance and common prosperity of the two peoples.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen strong connectivity in economics, infrastructure, banking - finance, and tourism; accelerate the implementation of agreements to support each other in building an independent and self-reliant economy, enhance the exchange of experience in macroeconomic management and institutional reform; closely coordinate to resolve bottlenecks, creating conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to effectively implement and expand investment projects in Laos.

The two sides agreed to strongly promote and create breakthroughs in economic, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation; agreed to promote connectivity in transportation, electricity, telecommunications, and tourism; continue to improve the quality of education, training, and human resource development, focusing on training high-quality human resources; promote people-to-people and local exchanges, considering this a strategic pillar contributing to tightening the bond and consolidating the foundation of long-term sustainable solidarity between the two nations.

General Secretary To Lam’s visit to Laos this time once again affirms Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of always giving the highest priority to the special solidarity relationship with Laos. This is also an opportunity for the two countries to jointly affirm their determination to build a new vision, bringing the Vietnam-Laos relationship to a new level of development with increasingly deep trust, opening up strong breakthroughs in cooperation in all fields…
