Vietnam attaches great importance to strengthening relations with Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan, a country with a very important position in the region.

The General Secretary said that with similarities in policies of peace, independence, self-reliance, and cooperation for mutual development, Vietnam and Jordan will become each other's trusted partners, promoting their strengths to make breakthroughs and rise together.

The General Secretary welcomed Jordan's sending of a large business delegation to accompany the King during his visit.

King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein agreed with General Secretary To Lam's assessment of the importance of the current period for the development process of the two countries and two peoples.

The King stated that Jordan wishes to promote comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam. He hopes that the two sides will strengthen political trust, expand cooperation in defense and security, share experiences and learn from each other in science and technology, and promote people-to-people exchanges.

At the talks with the King of Jordan, President Luong Cuong hoped that the King's visit would open a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries.

Assessing that Vietnam and Jordan share many similarities in the spirit of indomitability and perseverance in the struggle for national independence and liberation, the President said that Vietnam values ​​and wishes to strongly, substantially and effectively promote multifaceted cooperation with Jordan.

The King of Jordan emphasized that the invaluable assets of the two countries are the diligence and creativity of the people, the high quality of education, and efforts to develop science and technology and digital transformation.

The two leaders agreed that bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Jordan remains modest and does not match the potential and aspirations of the leaders and people of the two countries. They agreed to take bilateral relations to a new stage and soon appoint honorary consuls to each country to promote cooperation.

On the basis of political trust, the two leaders agreed to promote defense and security cooperation, information sharing, and exchange of experts and officials between defense and security establishments to enhance mutual understanding and exchange experiences.

The two sides agreed to continue consulting and supporting each other's candidacies as well as acting as a bridge to promote cooperation between the Arab League and ASEAN.

In economics, the two leaders agreed to facilitate the opening of markets for each other's key products, while encouraging businesses of the two countries to study the possibility of cooperation and investment, especially in the fields of infrastructure development, green economy, digital economy, telecommunications, production, and agricultural processing.

The King of Jordan suggested that the two countries consider opening direct flights soon, creating favorable conditions for granting entry visas to citizens of both sides.

Affirming Vietnam's strengths in agriculture, President Luong Cuong emphasized that Vietnam is ready to increase exports of key products to Jordan. The King of Jordan expressed his willingness to support Vietnam in developing the Halal industry through sharing information and experience.

Vietnam is ready to create favorable conditions for large Jordanian corporations.

Pleased to meet the King of Jordan again, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated Jordan's role in creating peace in the region.

Regarding agricultural cooperation, the Prime Minister emphasized that the two sides need to seek new cooperation models to improve efficiency and reduce production costs, such as implementing on-site export projects. The Prime Minister said that this is a model that Vietnam has successfully implemented in a number of countries.

The King of Jordan said he will direct relevant agencies to research and soon grant scholarships to Vietnamese students to study Arabic.

Meeting with the King of Jordan, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man shared that despite the geographical distance, the two countries have a friendly and close relationship, built on the foundation of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.
