The largest ostrich farm system in the country
Ostriches are the largest birds in the world, reaching nearly 3m in height. This is a wild bird originating from Africa, now domesticated, adapted to the climate in Vietnam, widely raised, bringing high economic efficiency. Taking advantage of favorable natural conditions, combined with the application of science and technology in breeding, Khatoco is one of the few units in the country raising and supplying quality ostrich products for the domestic and export markets.

Khatoco ostriches are raised at two large centers in Ninh Hoa town and Quang Nam province. Specifically, at Khatoco Ninh Hoa Ostrich Breeding Center (Ninh Phung commune, Ninh Hoa) there are 600 breeding ostriches, 3,500 commercial ostriches, annually supplying the market with 3,000 breeding ostriches, 170 tons of meat and more than 3,000 ostrich skins for the tanning industry. Meanwhile, at Khatoco Quang Nam Ostrich Breeding Center (Tam Phu commune, Tam Ky city, Quang Nam) there is a farming scale of 450 breeding ostriches, 2,500 commercial ostriches, annually supplying the market with about 5,500 breeding ostriches, more than 150 tons of meat and about 3,000 ostrich skins for the tanning industry.
Develop into regional specialties
Ostrich has great potential, diverse products bring high economic value. Most parts of ostrich are valuable: Ostrich leather is evaluated by experts as the most flexible leather in the world, 5 times more durable than normal cowhide, used to produce high-end leather fashion products; eggshells, feathers, and ostrich claws are used to make handicrafts.

In particular, when talking about the value of ostriches, we must mention ostrich meat. The meat of the world's largest bird is known as "the clean meat source of the 21st century". Because ostriches are inherently resistant to disease, antibiotics are not used at all during the breeding process. The diet of this bird is rich in fiber, mainly vegetables and grass. In addition, according to the report analyzing the nutritional content of foods by the US Department of Agriculture, ostrich meat is low in fat, has a protein content equivalent to beef, and much lower cholesterol than pork, beef, and chicken, helping to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, overweight, obesity, etc. In addition, ostrich meat is also rich in iron, which is very beneficial for pregnant women and people with anemia. Ostrich meat is also suitable for the elderly, helping to reduce the risk of chronic diseases and strengthen the body's immune system.
