According to the report at the conference, implementing the restructuring of the agricultural sector, in 2024 Phu Ninh focused on converting 188 hectares of rice land to a number of economically efficient crops.
Up to now, the district has 9 growing area codes for watermelon for export (total production area of 712 hectares; output of 21,929 thousand tons) and 1 growing area code for peanuts for domestic consumption.
The whole industry focuses on directing the development of safe vegetable and fruit production areas. Up to now, the district has 8 areas producing safe vegetables and fruits according to VietGap standards, covering an area of 69.8 hectares.
Notably, agricultural cooperatives in the area have joined with enterprises to produce and consume products through value chain linkage contracts, bringing high profits to participating people.
Typically, linking organizations to produce commercial rice varieties; linking production according to value chains associated with the consumption of chili products; vegetables, fruits; chickens, pigs, etc.
In 2025, Phu Ninh aims to achieve an agricultural, forestry and fishery production value of more than VND 1,451 billion (actual price). Of which, the aquaculture and forestry sector is more than VND 617 billion (accounting for 42.5%); livestock and aquaculture is more than VND 834 billion (accounting for 57.5%).
At the conference, the Chairman of Phu Ninh District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in the field of agricultural production in the district in 2024.
