Summary of the National Press Award 'For the cause of Vietnamese education' in 2025

This is an annual award to honor outstanding journalistic works on the cause of educating people; spreading humanistic values, and expressing gratitude for the silent contributions of teachers, groups and individuals to the cause of education in Vietnam.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Final Jury, said: 2025 marks the 8-year journey of the National Press Award "For the Cause of Vietnam Education" being launched and maintained, becoming a beautiful symbol of the connection between journalism and education, a place to honor humanistic values, spread faith and aspiration for innovation throughout society. The award is not only a professional activity, but has truly become a spiritual forum for writers for knowledge, for people, for the future of the country.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi said: This year, the Award has attracted more than 800 entries in 4 types of journalism: Print, Electronic, Radio and Television. Besides the Central press agencies, many localities - from mountainous areas, islands to remote areas - have contributed their voices and breath of life to the vivid picture of Vietnamese education today.

This year's works show the clear maturity of the education journalism team, from the way of choosing topics, processing data, to modern, multimedia presentation methods. Many series of articles have reflected current issues of the industry. In particular, many works have accompanied the industry in promoting the spirit of innovation, demonstrating the determination to build a humane, open and integrated education - where each learner develops their capacity and qualities in the spirit of "lifelong learning, learning to be a Human".

The Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association affirmed that each entry is not only the crystallization of the creative work of journalists, but also a strong message about the society's trust in education. The press continues to be a companion, a critical voice, a source of inspiration for the education sector on the path of fundamental and comprehensive innovation, cultivating a humane - creative - integrated Vietnamese education, contributing to realizing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

Mr. Trieu Ngoc Lam, Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, said: This year, there are many major policies on education and training such as: Law on Teachers, on extra teaching and learning, tuition exemption, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development. All 4 types of press have strongly reflected these contents. Many series of articles have reflected current issues of the industry such as: summarizing the 2018 General Education Program; developing digital education and artificial intelligence in teaching and learning; promoting skills education, school psychology; initiatives on happy, safe, and creative schools.

According to Mr. Trieu Ngoc Lam, the quality of local works has also been improved in both content and form. Therefore, the number of award-winning works of localities this year has also increased significantly compared to previous years.

From 82 works entered into the final round, the Final Round Council proposed to award 4 First prizes; 8 Second prizes; 12 Third prizes; 36 Encouragement prizes and 2 typical characters in 2 winning works. The National Press Award Ceremony "For the Cause of Vietnamese Education" in 2025 will be held on the evening of November 14, at Au Co Theater ( Hanoi ).
