Russia attacks airport in western Ukraine . The Russian military announced that it had carried out precision strikes on military infrastructure as well as the power grid in the city of Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnytskyi region, western Ukraine on the night of June 25 and the morning of May 26.

One of the targets was the Starokonstantinov airfield, which is expected to become the main base for Kiev’s F-16 fighters, said Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of Russia’s underground forces. The area also includes a bomb storage facility, a training ground and an electrical substation.

According to Mr. Lebedev, missiles and UAVs of Moscow forces caused serious damage to Ukraine's military infrastructure.

“The enemy lost up to 300 soldiers, four vehicles, a Grad self-propelled rocket launcher, a US-made 155-mm M777 howitzer, an Akatsiya self-propelled gun as well as a 122 mm D-30 gun,” the Russian Defense Ministry announced.

The NATO Secretary General's statement came after Kiev asked Western countries to set up an air defense system to shoot down Russian missiles heading towards Ukraine.

Ukraine wants US and Chinese leaders to meet in Switzerland . Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on his US counterpart Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend an upcoming peace conference in Switzerland aimed at ending the conflict with Russia.

More than 80 countries will attend the peace conference in Switzerland, Zelensky said. “I appeal to the world leaders who are still standing outside the efforts of the Global Peace Conference, President Biden and President Xi Jinping. Please show your leadership in promoting real peace, not just a pause between attacks,” the Ukrainian president stressed. According to him, the upcoming conference will “show who in the world really wants to end the conflict.”
