US President Joe Biden delivered a speech at the White House on the Hamas-Israel conflict on October 10, condemning Hamas' attack on Israel as an "absolutely heinous" act, according to Reuters.
"Like every nation in the world , Israel has the right to respond, indeed the obligation to respond to these vicious attacks. There should be no doubt that the United States stands with Israel," President Biden said.

President Biden expressed concern that American citizens could be taken hostage by Hamas and said the US would share intelligence with Israel and mobilize more experts to negotiate a rescue.
"We are increasing military assistance, including munitions and interceptor missiles to complement the Iron Dome system," President Biden said, referring to Israel's air defense system. According to Reuters, the Israeli military announced on October 10 that the first plane carrying US ammunition had landed in Israel following the Pentagon's recent aid announcement.

The leader called on Congress to take urgent action to provide the necessary national security funding for “key partners,” referring to both Israel and Ukraine. “This is not about party or politics . This is about the security of the world, the security of America,” Biden stressed.
The New York Times on the same day quoted US Ambassador to NATO Julianne Smith as saying that US support for Israel would not come at the expense of Ukraine. She stressed that the US could focus on its partnership and security commitment with Israel while still supporting Ukraine.
President Biden also warned other actors in the region not to take advantage of the conflict because the US's resolve was clear. He said Washington had increased its military deployment in the region to increase deterrence.
USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier
Earlier, the Pentagon announced that it had deployed the newest generation aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford with a group of escort ships and many aircraft to the region. Politico reported on October 10 that the US could send a second aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean in the near future. Specifically, two US Department of Defense officials revealed that the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower and its escort ships are preparing to depart from the base in Norfolk, Virginia this week and may receive orders to deploy near Israel.
The US is in a difficult position when it has to meet the demands of both Israel and Ukraine.
