At the Kremlin, Russian President Vladimir Putin received 8-year-old girl Raisat Akipova, and she made a call to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

Video footage from the Kremlin shows President Putin presenting flowers to “special guest” Raisat Akipova and chatting cheerfully with her. When he and the girl called Minister Siluanov to discuss the budget for Raisat Akipova’s homeland, Siluanov initially seemed surprised, but quickly agreed to provide additional funding for the southern region of Russia.
“It’s wonderful,” Putin said of Siluanov’s decision. Then he turned to Akipova and said, “We have 5 billion rubles for Dagestan (equivalent to $55.6 million).” Raisat Akipova thanked Minister Siluanov.
Last week, Mr Putin visited Dagestan and met with the people of this region. According to the Russian President told Akipova, he decided to invite the parents and sister to Moscow because he felt sad when he saw the photo of the girl crying because she had not met the President when he visited Dagestan.
